KILMOGANNY BRIDGE CLUB: The results of Wednesday 2nd August were: Individual Competition: Joint 1st: Nicholas Flavin & Tina Ronan; Joint 3rd: Kathleen Kelly & Philip Brennan. The winners on Wednesday 9th August were: 1st: Philip Brennan & Nicholas Flavin; Joint 2nd: Josie O’Gorman & Tina Ronan and Elizabeth Lanigan & Grace Landy. Visitors are always welcome on Wednesday evenings at 8.00 p.m. in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny. Partners will be provided on the night.

KELLS HANDBALL: In the Leinster 60 x 30 championships in the Junior Singles Steve Quinn (Meath) defeated C.J. Delaney (Kells); in the Minor Singles semi-final Eoin Brennan (Kells) lost out to Adam Walsh (Wexford) in the 3rd game; in the Intermediate Singles Final Peter Funchion (Kells) defeated Daniel Kavanagh (Wexford) in two games; in the Junior Doubles C. J. Delaney/Anthony Martin (Kells) were defeated by Micheal Carrie/Adrian Benson (Dublin). In the Open Senior Singles Brian Manogue (Kells) was defeated by Michael Gregan (Wicklow).


In the Juvenile County 60 x 30 championships Kells participants were in the U12 singles Adam O’Sullivan and Joseph Prendergast; in the U13 singles Emmet Nolan and Harry Delaney who defeated Dominic Bolster (Clogh) in the final; in the U14 singles Ciaran Phelan; in the U15 singles Matthew O’Sullivan and Cillian Lawrence; in the U17 singles Michael Power who was defeated in the final by Robert Dowling (Mothel) and in the Girls U14 singles Rachel Doherty.


 


KELLS SCOUTS BBQ will take place in Shirley’s, Kells on Sunday 26th August commencing at 4.00 p.m. Your support for this event is very welcome.


 


KINGS KELLS CHARITY CYCLE will take place on Saturday 26th August in Kells Village in aid of Cois Nore Cancer Support Centre Kilkenny. There are four cycle routes to choose from 116km, 80km, 45km/ 40km and a family cycle of 7.5km. Registration is now open on www.kellskings.ie.There will be music in Delaney’s Bar Kells provided by Smiggy and Willie and a DJ to follow on the 26th August. There will also be a raffle and games on the night with all proceeds going to Cois Nore. Due to their huge success last year, the younger Kells Kings volunteers will have the ‘Forget Me Not’ bags that will be used to light up Kells Bridge on 26th August beginning from 10.00 p.m. The bags can be bought in Bob’s Shop Kells, Sean Delaney’s Bar, Mill Cafe, The Crèche in Kells and An Bláthanna Béag in Stoneyford and in the village on the day of the cycle. Bags cost €5 each and all proceeds go to Cois Nore. The bags may be personalised with messages for loved ones.
