KILMOGANNY BRIDGE CLUB: The results of last Wednesday 14th February were: 1st: Grace Landy and Elizabeth Lanigan, 2nd: Nellie O’Shea & Philip Brennan, 3rd: Eileen Grace & Teresa Walsh.  Visitors are always welcome to Bridge in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny on Wednesdays at 8.00 p.m. Partners will be provided on the night.

DUNAMAGGIN GAA CLUB Registration days for all members will be held on Saturday 24th February in St. Eoghan’s Centre Kilmoganny after 7.30 p.m. mass and on Sunday 25th February after 11.00 a.m. mass in St. Leonard’s Hall Dunnamaggin.


 


DUNAMAGGIN JUVENILE MEDAL PRESENTATION was held during their annual awards evening on Saturday evening last. Club Chairman John Fitzpatrick welcomed all and thanked all for their efforts over the last season which brought such success to the club. The victorious U11 Roinn B Schools team were presented with their medals as were the winning Feile team by Noel Hickey There was also a presentation to the five members of the club who were on the All-Ireland winning St. Kieran's Junior Hurling team, Alex Moore, Denis Walsh, Harry Walsh (Captain), Kieran Buckley and Andy Hickey. The League and Championship Roinn B Winning Minor hurlers were then presented with their county medals. This was a huge achievement for any group of players. A special presentation was made to Biddy Horan for being such a great supporter of all Dunamaggin teams over the years.

KILMOGANNY FOOTBALLERS: The Kilmoganny Senior Footballers travelled to James Stephens for their 3rd round league game on Saturday afternoon last. James Stephens got the dream start when they hit the back of the net in the opening minute. Kilmoganny battled back well and team Captain Sean Connery opened the score with a well taken point from play. Ronan Coffey added two points from frees to level the game. Despite some great play from Kilmoganny the scores just would not come. It was James Stephens finished the half very well and scored 2 - 2 as the half drew to a close. The half time score was: Kilmoganny 0 - 3 James Stephens 3 - 02. Kilmoganny now playing with the breeze opened the second half with intent and hit points from play through Ronan Coffey and John Fitzpatrick. James Stephens responded with a point but it was Kilmoganny who were gaining momentum with points from Ronan Co0ffey (2) and Darren Fitzpatrick. John Fitzpatrick then found the net to further narrow the gap and although James Stephens did respond Kilmoganny managed to close the gap to draw the game. THE DUNNA DASH: The 5th Annual “Dunna Dash” 5km Family Fun Run & Walk in aid of St. Leonard’s National School will be held again this year on Sunday 4th March 2018 at 12.30 p.m.. Registration will be from 11.30 a.m. in the school hall on the day. Sponsors are currently sought for the children’s medals. If you are interested in or know of anyone or company who would be willing to help with this please let Barbara Rossiter, Aine Walsh or Yvonne Lyons know.


 


THE PAT WALSH MEMORIAL COMMITTEE will hold a meeting in St. Leonard’s Hall, Dunamaggan on next Tuesday 27th February at 8.30 p.m. so as to make arrangements for this year’s Easter Sunday Parade.


 


KELLS HANDBALL CLUB: In the Juvenile 40 x 20 Leinster Championship Finals in the Boys U12 Doubles Cathal Buckley/John Hayes (Kells) beat Rory Gilbert/Joshua Roche (Wexford); in the Boys U13 Doubles Joe Prendergast (Kells)/James Purcell (Windgap) beat John Connors/Conor Creane (Wexford); in the Boys U15 Doubles Ciaran Phelan (Kells)/Sean Barron (Windgap) beat Tommy Connors/Ben Keeling (Wexford); in the Girls U15 Doubles Rachel Doherty (Kells)/ Cliodhna O’Shea (Windgap) lost out to Danielle Kinsella/Emily Moran (Wexford).  Well done to everyone on reaching the Finals.


In the 2nd Level Colleges 40 x 20 championships Eoin Brennan (Kells) won the Senior Singles Leinster Final but lost out in the All Ireland semi-final to Patrick Murphy (Mayo).


 


SCHOOL ENROLMENTS for St. Brigid’s School, Kells, St. Eoghan’s School, Kilmoganny and St. Leonard’s School, Dunamaggan should be made as soon as possible so that the schools may plan for next year. St. Leonard’s School, Dunamaggan intend to have enrolments completed by 16th March.
