KILMOGANNY BRIDGE CLUB: The results of Wednesday 25th July were: 1st: Nicholas Flavin & Gerry Fitzpatrick; 2nd: Elizabeth Lanigan & Grace Landy; 3rd: Kathleen Kelly & Peadar Kelly. Bridge continues in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny on Wednesday nights throughout the summer at 8.00 p.m. Visitors are always welcome and partners will be provided for any visitors.

KILMOGANNY MUSIC FESTIVAL Final preparations are underway for the Kilmoganny Music Festival and Field Day which takes place on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th August. A meeting will take place on this Wednesday night at 9.00 p.m. in St. Eoghan’s Centre to finalise arrangements for the Festival. All are welcome to attend. The loan of Tea Tents and Gazebos  would be appreciated. If you wish to put in a stall on the Sunday just come along. You are asked to get your tickets now for `The Kilkennys`-Saturday night in Dunphy’s and the Comedy Wild West show `Who Shot the Sheriff`` on Sunday evening at 7.00 p.m. Take a trip down memory Lane and come and see the `Indians Showband` as they were in the Carnival days of the 70’s.


 On Sunday there will be a Field Day in the GAA grounds in Kilmoganny which starts with an U 10 hurling blitz and a Girls U 12 Football Blitz at 12.30p.m. Also included will be Wheel of Fortune, Bouncy Castle, Tug of War etc. Buskers are welcome to music festival in the village and at 7.00 p.m. the country and Western evening begins with the hilarious comedy “Who Shot the Sherriff” in Dunphy’s with a barbeque at the interval. The conclusion to the weekend will be the “Indian Showband”. Tickets are available at the usual outlets. 


 


KELLS HANDBALL CLUB: In the Juvenile County 60 x 30 championships in the U 14 singles Harry Delaney (Kells) defeated Michael Carroll (Talbot’s Inch) and then defeated Sean O’Keeffe (Kilfane) in the semi-final and Kyle Jordan (Kilfane) in the final in two close games. In the U 12 Singles John Hayes (Kells) was defeated by Niall Drennan (Galmoy) in the semi-final and also in U 12 singles Cathal Buckley (Kells) was defeated in the semi-final by the eventual winner Conor Doyle (Windgap).


In the Leinster Open 60 x 30 Tournament Grade A C.J. Delaney (Kells) teamed up with Daniel Love (Clogh) and they competed against Billy O’Neill/Kyle Dunne (Clogh), Ian Griffin/Michael Carried (Dublin) and Jerome Willoughby/Chris Doyle (Wicklow).  Even though they played well they didn’t make the final.
