D.K.K. Lotto: The winning numbers of 2nd August were: 5, 6, 19. There was no jackpot winner. The following won 30 each: Phena Heffernan, Patricia Coffey, Carol Power, Des Goss and Tom Kennedy. Next week's jackpot will be worth 1,900. The Bingo jackpot on Saturday night's in St. Eoghan's Centre, Kilmoganny is now worth 320. The Pool number is worth 1,090.
The Annual Golf Classic in aid of Dunamaggan Hurling Club and Kilmoganny Football Club will be held in Callan Golf Club on this Friday and Saturday 13th & 14th August. It is a team of 4 competition and the entry fee is 200 including a steak dinner. Contact Michael Murphy 086 - 2364864 or 056 - 7728210 re starting times. The final match in the League Championship between Dunamaggan and O'Loughlin Gales takes place in Thomastown on this Sunday.
Thanks is expressed by Anne Doherty to all who supported the recent Cabaret in O'Connor's, Dunamaggan where about 1,000 was raised for the missionary work in Ethiopia. The L'Arche Community in Kilmoganny also expressed their thanks to the organizers and patrons who supported their Bank Holiday Night in Dunphy's, Kilmoganny where 1,400 was raised.
The Shrughawadda Players drama group will hold their A.G.M. on Thursday August 26th in St. Eoghan's Centre, Kilmoganny at 8.30 p.m.. Anyone with an interest in Drama is invited to attend the meeting. New members are very welcome.
Dunamaggan U 16 Hurlers had a very busy week with two championship matches and a replay of the league semi-final. There were victories in the championship matched but defeat at the hands of Fenians, Johnstown in the league semi-final. On July 31st they played Cloneen in the first round of the championship and led by 2 points at half time having struggled through the half. Two Ronan Coffee goals and frees pointed by Patrick Delaney settled the team and they emerged winners by 3 - 13 to 2 - 10. Two days later in Ballyhale they took on the Fenians in the replay of the League Semi-Final. In a low scoring first half they trailed by 4 points on a scoreline of 0 -6 to 0 - 2. Dunamaggan made a great start to the second half and with three unanswered points were back in the game until a goal from a free by the Fenians which was followed by another from play put the north Kilkenny team 5 points clear. Dunamaggan tried very hard but could only get to within 4 points of the winners on a scoreline of 2 - 8 to 0 - 10. This was the score line of those attending the match but the referee had a scoreline of 2 - 7 to 0 -11. What would the end have been if Dunamaggan had scored a last minute goal? The team was: Adam Kenneally, Eoin Kearney, Andrew Fitzpatrick, Sean Moylan, Ryan Thomas, William Moylan (0 - 1), Stephen Lawlor, Paul Kirwan (0 - 2), William Bergin (0 - 2), Conor Long, Patrick Delaney (0 - 4, 3 f), Patrick Power, Michael Cody, Ray Cody (0 - 1), Ronan Coffey. The championship resumed last Saturday in Danesfort with James Stephens B providing the opposition. Playing against the win in the first half and up the hill they started slowly but lead by 0 - 2 had the break. The lost Sean Moylan through injury in the first half and Aaron Doherty replaced him. During the second half Dunamaggan played their best hurling of the week and scored freely. In goal Adam Kenneally was solid with Andrew Fitzpatrick and Eoin Kearney very strong in defence. Conor Long and Paul Kirwan dominated the midfield area but the full forward line was finding it difficult to convert their possession into scores. The move of William Bergin to the inside line brought results as he scored two points and then two quick goals from Patrick Power and substitute John Fitzpatrick killed off the James Stephens team. The final score was Dunamaggan 2 - 18, James Stephens B 0 - 9. They now progress to the semi-final on Monday 16th. An Art Exhibition by local artist Kevin Fennelly, a native of Rathduff, Kells and Gemma Walsh, a native of Windgap and Kilmoganny resident is taking place in the Community Hall and Scouts Centre in Kells village. Kevin has a number of paintings and wood carvings on exhibition. The carvings include one of Adam and Eve. Gemma's work includes ceramics. The exhibition was opened by Co. Council Chairperson, Catherine Connery on Friday last.

Dunamaggan Dinner Dance due to the success of the parish dinner dance last year it will be held again this year on Saturday 27th November in the Ormonde Hotel. Further details will be announced later.
