DUNAMAGGAN GYMKHANA made a presentation of the proceeds of their Gymkhana to the Carlow/Kilkenny Home Care team and to St. Joseph’s Home, Kilmoganny of €4,000 each. Both the Home Care team and St. Joseph’s Home Kilmoganny expressed their gratitude to the Gymkhana committee, its supporters and sponsors for their generous support. The Chairperson of Dunamaggan Gymkhana, Larry Costello expressed his thanks to Margaret O’Shea, Ballintee for the use of her land for the Gymkhana, to the sponsors, helpers and participants for making the Gymkhana a great success.

A MEETING OF PARENTS of children who will receive their Confirmation in St. Eoghan’s Church, Kilmoganny on Sunday 29th January 2012 will take place in St. Leonard’s Hall, Dunamaggan on next Wednesday 9th November at 7.00 p.m.. Parents of children in the three parish schools of St. Brigid’s, Kells, St. Eoghan’s, Kilmoganny and St. Leonard’s, Dunamaggan are invited to the meeting.


 


REPORT FROM DUNAMAGGAN PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL MEETING (1) It was reported that the Diocesan Pastoral Council is setting up a group to develop a framework and principles for the development of Pastoral Areas (i.e. parishes working together). It is planned to have a general meeting of Parishioners to discuss this and other matters next spring. (2) The members of the Pastoral Council are invited to 3 nights training for Pastoral Councils in the Southern Deanery in Mullinavat on 7th, 14th & 21st November. (3) It is planned to have a Christmas Tree in the car park in Kilmoganny this Christmas. A ceremony of switching on the lights and singing of Christmas Carols will take place on Friday 16th December at 7.00 p.m.. It will be followed by a cup of tea etc in St. Eoghan’s Centre. (4) The pre-Christmas penitential services will be held on the week-end of 17th & 18th December. (5) A special mass will be celebrated in St. Mary’s Cathedral, Kilkenny on Sunday 13th November at 3.00 p.m. to introduce the New Missal and present the Ossory Banner. (6) Paschal Grace has been appointed as secretary of the Southern Deanery Pastoral Council. (7) If anyone would like to volunteer to serve as a Eucharistic Minister or Reader or if you know of someone you would consider suitable you are asked to contact any member of the Parish Pastoral Council. Its members are Ned Kirwan (Chairperson), Pascal Grace (Secretary), Noel McDonald, Siobhan O’Donovan, John O’Brien, Johno Reid, Paddy Reade, (Rev.) Nicholas Flavin.
