D.K.K. Lotto: The winning numbers of the 13th September were: 4, 23, 26. There was no jackpot winner. The following won 30 each: Ciss Ryan, Nellie Brownrigg, Liz McCarthy, Ami Moran-Hegarty and Siobhan O'Donovan. Next week's jackpot will be worth 1,450. The Bingo jackpot on Saturday night's in St. Eoghan's Centre, Kilmoganny is now worth 380. The Pool number is worth 1,150.
Bridge classes for beginners will be held in St. Eoghan's Centre, Kilmoganny commencing on Wednesday 29th September at 8.00 p.m.. The classes will run for ten weeks and cost 20. No previous knowledge of card playing is required. for further details contact 087 - 2257498.
The Dunamaggan Parish Pastoral Council at its recent meeting (1) expressed its thanks to all who assisted and helped with the Cemetery masses and mass of welcome and Family last July. It would welcome any suggestions or ideas on how these celebrations could be improved in the future; (2) stated that the Parish mission will be held from February 26th to March 4th 2011. In preparation for the mission a survey will be carried out of all households in the parish to obtain their views and opinions of what they would like the mission to include. The questionnaire for the survey will be circulated with the October envelopes and it is hoped that they will be returned by mid-October: (3) a preliminary discussion took place on parish co-operation which will be needed to respond to the need of parishioners in the future and (4) prayers were offered for recently deceased parishioners.
First Communion 2011: A meeting of all parents of children from the schools in the parish of Dunamaggan who will receive their first holy communion in May 2011 will take place in St. Leonard's Hall, Dunamaggan on Monday 27th September at 7.30 p.m..
Kilmoganny Golf Society will hold its Captain's (Dermot O'Shea) Prize outing in Portarlington Golf Club on Saturday 25th September. The tee times are from 11.30 a.m. & 12.50 p.m.. All members are asked to contact Peter Moran to book their tee times.
The results of the Outing to Abbeyleix Golf Club on September 4th are: 1st: Tom Phelan, 2nd: Brian O'Shea, Croan; 3rd: Joe O'Shea; Front Nine: Brian O'Shea, Kilmoganny; Back Nine: Richie Murphy.
A trip from Dunamaggan to the Croke Parke Museum and to Dáil Éireann will take place on Wednesday 27th October. Those who wish to take part in the trip are asked to book with John Holden, 086 - 8203461 before September 30th.

St. Leonard's School, Dunamaggan was the over-all school winner in the schools entries at the Iverk Show in Piltown. Elaine Power won the overall prize for Arts and Crafts in the Primary Schools section with her tapestry (Photo Attached) with Kathy Long (2nd) and Michael Cody (3rd). The other school winners from 3rd and 4th Class Frieze and Junior and Senior Infants Collage were: Lizzie Kelly, Hazel McEnery, Sarah Kelly, Megan Ryan, Aine O'Donnell, Leo Capasso, Gillian Costello, Ellen Burke, Tadhg O'Sullivan, Conor Denny, Darragh Walsh and Ellen O'Neill.
