THE MARRIAGE between Caroline Herity, Caherleske and Ronan O’Regan, Ballybrack was celebrated in Chapel Hill, Thomastown last Saturday 5th November. The Bridesmaid was Louise Costello and the best man was Brian O’Regan. The celebrant was rev. Nicholas Flavin P.P. Dunamaggan. The readings, prayers of the faithful and communion reflection were read by members of each family. Both mothers presented the gifts at the offertory.

HSTORY OF DUNAMAGGAN: At its most recent meeting on November 1st the committee reviewed a significant of material which has been submitted to date. This included the data from Primary School registers dating back to 1864 which gave the occupations of the fathers of children enter the schools. “The changes in occupation of people during the past century and a half”, stated the group Chairperson, Rev. Nicholas Flavin, “reflect much of the social change during this period of time. The analysis of this data should be of great interest not only in the locality but in the wider community.” The gathering of names of All-Ireland medal winners in all competitions is almost complete and if any one is aware of such medal winners they are asked to communicate this information to any member of the committee. Material on almost 70 different topics is already compiled as a first draft. It is the intention of the committee to aim at having all the material included in the completed first draft within a few months. Anyone who has material which they believe should be included in the publication are asked to forward the material to any member of the committee or attend its next meeting on Thursday 1st December in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny at 8.00 p.m..
NEXT DRAMA: The next drama production from the Shrughawadda Players in Kilmoganny is scheduled for staging from Tuesday 6th to Friday 9th December. Further details will be available in the near future.
