Kells Handball Club Report to November 3rd 2019 : In the Juvenile 60 x 30 Leinster B Championships, representing Kells was Shauna Hayes in the GU12BS who unfortunately lost out in the Final to Una Brophy (Laois) and Alan Cunniffe was in the BU12BS and was unlucky not to make the Final. Well done to you both.


The Juvenile 60 x 30 All Ireland Semi Final and Finals were hosted by Ballina, Co. Tipperary. Kilkenny’s U14/15 Team 6 of Joseph Prendergast (Kells), Ronan O’Brien, Luke Hanrahan, Rory Glynn, Paul Delaney, Noah Bourke, Luke Bourke, Aaron Hosey lost out to Tipperary in the semi final. In the U12/13 Team 6 All Ireland Final Kilkenny defeated Cork. Kilkenny’s team were John Hayes, Cathal Buckley, Noah Manogue (Kells), Conor Doyle, (Windgap), Anthony Clifford, James Kenny, (Talbots Inch), Cian Doherty and Oisin Farrell (Kilfane). There was no competition for the U16/17 Team as Kilkenny were the only entry. The team were Cillian Lawrence, Stephen Doheny (Kells), Adam O’Shea and Jamie Joy (Windgap). Congratulations and very well done



Festive Fayre: Windgap Camogie Club are hosting a Cooking for Christmas Demonstration with Anne Neary of Ryelands Cookery School on Friday November 15th at 7.30pm in Windgap Community Centre. Tickets are €20 and include a door prize draw for a weekend away plus a mince pie and wine reception. There will be an opportunity for a limited amount of stalls to rent for local arts/crafts/cookery stalls for anyone interested. Dunnamaggin Parish Community Gathering: Our next Community Gathering takes place this coming Sunday on November 10th in The Old School Dunnamaggin from 10.30am. Tea - Coffee- Cake - Chat. Come along and meet your neighbours.



Dunnamaggin Parish Development Group: are starting a new Art Group on Tuesday evenings in the Parish Hall Dunnamaggin 7.00 - 9.30 begining on Tuesday 12th November. All levels of experience or none are welcome as the purpose of the group is to come together to share techniques and knowledge of painting on canvas. October 'Keeping it Delightful' Kilmoganny Community Coffee Morning.: Thank you to everyone that called in. It was great that new people supported the event. Please tell others about it. €104 was raised and divided equally between L'Arche, where the money will be put towards the cost of a much needed oven in the Callan workshop and St. Joseph's Home in Kilmoganny where the money will be used towards the cost of new curtains. The next 'Keeping it Delightful' coffee morning will be Tuesday 26th November.


'Take it or Leave it'. 'Fabulous and Free'. Kilmoganny's free shop. Thank you to everyone who has donated items for this project, from bags to books, candles to cups, pictures to perfume and lots more items in excellent condition. So far not one wheelbarrow, hammer, spanner, nut, screw or bolt has been received these items would also be welcome and would make the shop more appealing to greater number of people. The shop will open on Monday 25th November and close on Saturday 14th December at the following times:
Monday to Friday 10.00am to 12.00pm.
Saturday 2.00pm to 4.00pm.
These times could be extended to include two evenings each week depending on the number of items donated and the availability of volunteers. Dunnamaggin Gymkhana Committee extends a warm thank you to all the sponsors, judges, volunteers and local community who helped to make this years gymkhana a tremendous success. €4000 each was recently presented to St Josephs Home, Kilmoganny and the Carlow Kilkenny Homecare Team.


Dates for your diary: Kells Christmas Market takes place on November 25th and Dunnamaggin Christmas Market is the following Sunday December 1st in The Old School. On December 5th a Flower Arrangement Demonstration fundraiser for St Josephs Home takes place in The Old School Dunnamaggin. More details on all to follow.
