Kilkenny Volunteer Centre are delighted to have a number of new roles on our database for January and a new project for our Volunteers to get involved in . Afterschools Volunteer The Village Childcare and Community Services, Kilkenny is looking for volunteers to support their afterschool's programme for primary school aged children Guide Runners Kilkenny Sports and Recreation Partnership are working with Vision Sports Ireland and are looking for Guide Runners to assist and support our vision impaired participants to go for a run. Branch Volunteers MS Ireland’s Kilkenny Branch is a local support service for people and families with MS. Their branch is looking for new volunteers to join their committee and help plan activities that meet the needs of branch members across Co Kilkenny Community Support Volunteer The Good Shepherd Centre are currently supporting a vulnerable person iving in the Kilkenny city suburbs and would love the help of a volunteer to assist them. Youthclub leader - Thomastown No name club in Thomastown are keen to recruit new volunteer leaders to keep the club running for the local young adults.


Congratulations to St Brigids College Callan girls on winning the Junior B Leinster final in Galmoy on Sunday morning they defeated Banagher college 2-10 to 0-5, and a special mention to our Windgap girls Aisling O Brien Ciara O Shea Caoimhe Power Cathy Power Eleanor Hayes Lauren Enright Ria McCormack and to the trainers Ms O Driscoll & Ms O Keefe well done and best of luck in the All Ireland semifinal (TBC)


World Wetlands Day outing to Newpark Fen
Birdwatch Ireland Kilkenny Branch have organised an outing to Newpark Fen on Saturday 5th February @10am (meet at Newpark Fen) to celebrate World Wetlands Day. Please wear suitable hiking boots and warm waterproof clothing in case of inclement weather and wear a mask in case of large crowds. Email patandmarydurkin@gmail.com for further details.


Biodiversity Walks and Talks
Norevision will host a series of Biodiversity Walks in Kilkenny and Laois to connect people to each other and the River Nore. Led by ecologists and well-known personalities, they will share their knowledge as you explore the river and its surroundings. The first Kilkenny walk, facilitated by Éanna Ní Lamhna, will take place on Saturday 12th Feb @2.30pm.
