D.K.K. Lotto: The winning numbers of the 27th September were: 5, 16, 20. There was no jackpot winner. The following won 30 each: Maura Moore, Hilary O'Carroll, Kitty Kirwan, H & R Townsend and John Hickey. Next week's jackpot will be worth 1,750. The Bingo jackpot on Saturday night's in St. Eoghan's Centre, Kilmoganny is now worth 400. The Pool number is worth 1,170.
A Parish Survey is underway at present to assist with the preparations for the Parish Mission from February 27th - March 4th 2011. Parish Priest, Rev. Nicholas Flavin, stated that one of the main purposes of the short survey of each household is to enable parishioners to influence the content and format of the parish mission. The questionnaires may be returned to local shops, the presbytery or to the churches at weekend masses on or before Monday 25th October.
The Dunamaggan U 16 Hurling Team lost out in the county final Roinn C to the Fenians, Johnstown on a scoreline of 1 - 4 to 0 - 3 in Clara last Saturday. The strong cross-field wind and heavy showers made conditions difficult for fluent hurling. The physically stronger Johnstown team was more suited to the difficult conditions. As the score line indicated both teams found it difficult to score in a game dominated by the backs from both teams. The team was: Adam Kenneally, Eoin Kearney, Andrew Fitzpatrick, Sean Moylan, Ryan Thomas, William Moylan, Stephen Lawlor, Patrick Delaney, Conor Long, Jason Doherty, Paul Kirwan (0 - 1), William Bergin, Patrick Power, Ray Cody (0 - 2 f), Ronan Coffey, Subs: Aaron Doherty (25mins), John Fitzpatrick (50mins), Jack Brett, Michael Cody.
The Enrolment Mass for children who will receive their First Holy Communion next May took place in St. Leonard's Church, Dunamaggan on last Sunday. Emma Brennan, Siobhán Brennan, Dylan Carroll, Laura Davis, Conor Denny, Rachel Doherty, Ciara Farrell, Andy Hickey, Isobel Johnston, Amy Kinsella, Ivan McCauley, Grace McLoughlin, Ciara Mulhall, Shaun O'Keeffe, Tadhg O'Sullivan, Keelagh Sheridan, Darragh Walsh, Niamh Walsh, Gavin Cleere, Leona Drennan, Nathan Drennan, Ella Dunne, Colin Fitzpatrick, Kievan Keech and Gabriella Manogue. The Children were all presented with a candle bearing their name after mass. The next monthly mass for children will be on Sunday October 31st at 11.00 a.m. in St. Leonard's Church. As October is the month of the Rosary at this mass rosary beads will be blessed.
The Dunamaggan Parish Dinner Dance will be held this year on Saturday 27th November in the Ormonde Hotel, Kilkenny. Tickets will be on sale in the coming weeks.
