Ukraine -Urgent Appeal!!

31 March 2022

Hi all, We are all aware of the situation in Ukraine and that people are now fleeing the country. The Kilkenny Diocese has given permission for the Dunnamaggin parochial house to be used as a house for Ukrainian Refugees. There is a family arriving this week - 2 parents and 2 boys aged 8 & 13 and 1 girl aged 11. Volunteers have been in the house over the weekend getting prepared. However, as you can imagine there are some set up costs that need to be met namely bedding, utensils, crockery and groceries. The family are obviously traumatised & will need to help & support to settle in. We are appealing for Dunnes Stores, Penneys, Argos Vouchers to supply non food items. We will collect money to supply them with food. We will do a main shop to set them up and then set up an account with Bob so that he can deliver essentials weekly.  If you would like to donate or have any specific items you think they might need an old bike, computer, games for child / Adult etc please contact Jim 087 9667739 or Philip 087 2831590 directly.

Any money or vouchers not used will be held for another family or donated to Red Cross for use with families being placed in other villages in Kilkenny or indeed if we take in another family.
