D.K.K. Lotto: The winning numbers of the 4th October were: 15, 24, 25. There was no jackpot winner. The following won 30 each: Joe Sheridan, Rachel McCormack, Michael Walsh, Seamus Martin and David O'Connor. Next week's jackpot will be worth 1,900. The Bingo jackpot on Saturday night's in St. Eoghan's Centre, Kilmoganny is now worth 410. The Pool number is worth 1,180.

The Dunamaggan Gymkhana Committee presented cheques to the value of 3,500 to St. Joseph's Home, Kilmoganny and to the Carlow/Kilkenny Homecare Team, the proceeds of their Gymkhana, in the Club House Hotel, Kilkenny.

Rev. Jim Forristal, C.C. St. Canice's, Kilkenny and a native of Danganmore, Dunamaggan was laid to rest in Dunamaggan Cemetery on Tuesday last 5th October. Fr. Jim dies at the residence of his sister Alice Mahoney, Kellsgrange, Kells, after a long illness. He is survived by his brothers Richard (Dick), Danganmore, Tom and sisters Alice and Maudie O'Neill, Ballintee, in-laws, nieces, nephews, many relatives and friends. The mass of Christian burial was celebrated in St. Canice's Church by his good friend Rev. Sean O'Connor accompanied by many con-celebrants including Bishop Laurence Forristal. Bishop Seamus Freeman, due to engagements outside the country was unable to attend but expressed his condolences and had visited Fr. Jim a few days prior to his death. The remains were received at Dunamaggan Cemetery by Rev. Nicholas Flavin P.P. who led the prayers of commendation. Bishop Laurence Forristal recited a decade of the rosary. May he rest in peace.

(Eileen) Nellie Phelan, a native of Carrick Road, Kilmoganny, died peacefully in St. Columba's Hospital, Thomastown after a long illness. She is survived by here nieces and nephew in Co. Kildare. Her remains were removed to St. Eoghan's Church, Kilmoganny on Thursday evening and the mass of Christian Burial was celebrated by Rev. Nicholas Flavin P.P. on last Friday. She was laid to rest in Kilmoganny Cemetery. Nellie lived out most of her long life in Kilmoganny but spent a number of years in Mount Carmel, Callan before spending the last two years in St. Columba's Hospital, Thomastown. Her family expressed their thanks to the staff of Mount Carmel and of St. Columba's for the great care they took of Nellie in her latter years. May she rest in peace.
