CHANGES IN WEEK-END MASS TIMES: As a result of the recent Diocesan Clerical changes the number of week-end masses in Dunamaggan and Windgap parishes has to be reduced. The Parish Pastoral Councils of both parishes met and the consensus reached was that masses would be at the following times with a review in a year’s time. On Saturday evening’s in St. Eoghan’s Church Kilmoganny at 7.00 p.m. and on Sundays in St. Nicholas’s Church Tullahought at 9.00 a.m.; in St. Nicholas’s Church Windgap at 10.00 a.m. and in St. Leonard’s Church Dunamaggan at 11.00 a.m.. Funeral masses on Sundays in churches other than St. Leonard’s Church Dunamaggan will be at 12.00 noon or as agreed with families. The times of Weekday masses will now be in St. Leonard’s Church, Dunamaggan on Mondays & Fridays and in St. Nicholas’s Church, Windgap on Tuesdays all at 9.30 a.m.. On Wednesdays & Thursdays mass will be in St. Joseph’s Home, Kilmoganny at 12.10 p.m.. In addition there will be First Friday Mass in Windgap at 7.30 p.m.
These changes take effect from Saturday week 13th July. The other effects of the changes will be discussed and details will be circulated to each household.

THE HISTORY OF DUNAMAGGAN group will have its next meeting in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny on next Tuesday 10th July at 8.00 p.m.. All are welcome to attend.
KELLS HANDBALL CLUB: In the 60 x 30 Leinster championships Junior Singles Ger McGrath (Kells) defeated Eugene Kelly (Wexford); in the U 21 Singles Patrick Funchion (Kells) defeated Jason Murphy (Wexford); in the Junior B Singles Brendan Burke (Kells) defeated Kevin Barrett (Carlow) and Diarmuid Burke (Kells) defeated Eoin Brannigan (Kilkenny).
In the Juvenile County 60 x 30 championships representing Kells in the Girls U 12 Doubles were Kerrianne Power and Sophie Thomas who played well against the eventual winners Kilfane; in the Boys U 12 Doubles were Michael Power and Colin McKenna (Kells) who were unlucky to lose out to Kilfane in the final; in the Boys U 13 Doubles were Conor Condon and Conor Murphy (Kells) who put up a great performance beating Mothel and went on to overcome Clogh in the final; in the Boys U 14 Doubles were Jack Crehan and Roy Cullen (Kells) who overcame Clogh and then went on to beat Mothel in the final. The 60 x 30 Doubles National Championships were held in venues in Kilkenny and in the Men’s Open Doubles Brian Manogue (Kells) and Nicky Anthony (Mullinavat) were beaten in the quarter finals by Barry Goff/Colin Keeling (Wexford) who went on to win the Cup Final. In the Boys 15 and Under Doubles Roy Cullen (Kells) and Dion Burke (Mothel) were beaten by Evan Murphy/Denis Donegan (Meath/Limerick) in the plate quarter final. In the Men’s B Ger McGrath (Kells) with Ger Anthony (Mullinavat) defeated Padraig Quish/Brendan Fleming (Cork) but were beaten by James Gregan/Keith Kavanagh (Wicklow). In the Men’s C Doubles Final Diarmuid Burke/Brendan Burke (Kells) defeated Sean Murphy/Anthony Donnelly (Limerick). In the Men’s 23 and Under Doubles Patrick Funchion (Kells) and Ciaran Neary (Talbot’s Inch) defeated Niall O’Connor (Kildare) and Tadgh Carroll (Cork) in the Final. DUNAMAGGIN U 14 HURLERS CONTINUE TO SUCCEED: Dunnamaggin took on O’Loughlin’s B team in the 6th round of their league in Dunnamaggin on last Tuesday evening. The game turned out to be a goal fest with Dunnamaggin scoring three in the first 10mins through Roy Cullen (2) and Conor Lawlor. Nicky O’Shea added a point before O’Loughlin’s scored a goal through a lucky deflection which gave Dunnamaggin goalie Jamie McLoughlin, who was solid through-out, little chance. Both sides traded points (3) before Conor Lawlor was to kill the game as a contest just before half time with a further two goals. Half Time 5 – 4 to 1 – 3 in Dunnamaggin’s favour. .Rory Lodge replaced Dara Keane at half time and Dunnamaggin continued to apply the pressure with Luke Fitzpatrick now finding the net. Dunnamaggin now emptied their bench and continued to hurl very well with good points from Luke Fitzpatrick and Rory Lodge. The goal scoring however was not over and it was Conor Lawlor who again found the net before Harry Walsh finished the scoring for Dunnamaggin with a fine point. The Full Time was O’Loughlin’s 1- 06 to 7 - 9 for Dunnamaggin. ANNE LONG (nee KENNEDY) late of Castleinch, died recently in St. Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny and was laid to rest in Kilmoganny Cemetery on last Friday. Her remains were removed from Molloy’s Funeral Home in Callan to St. Leonard’s Church, Dunamaggan on Thursday last where they were received by Rev. Nicholas Flavin P.P.. The mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday morning by Rev. Nicholas Flavin. The readings and prayers of the faithful were read by family members. The gifts and symbols were presented by family members. She is survived by her husband Paddy, formally of Haggard, her sister Josephine, many nieces and nephews, relative and friends. The lived for many years in England before returning to Kilkenny over 20 years ago. May she rest in peace.
