DUNAMAGGAN HURLERS CONTINUE SUCCESS: The Dunamaggan Minor Hurlers have Good win over Gowran in the fifth game of the league in a wet Dunnamaggin on Monday week last. Gowran applied pressure from the start and forced an excellent save from Adam Kennelly but it was Dunnamaggin who open the scoring with a Ronan Coffey point but Gowran quickly replied with a point. Adam Kennelly was busy again and was very quick off his line to make another great save which prevented what seemed a certain goal. Both sides traded points up until half time with the Dunnamaggin scores coming through Paddy Delaney (2) and Conor Long the second of Delaney’s coming after great work from the player. The Half Time Score was Gowran 0 - 4 Dunnamaggin 0 - 4. It was Dunnamaggin who worked hardest from the start of the second half with the half back line of Michael Cody, William Moylan and Andrew Fitzpatrick working very hard for every ball. This set the platform for Paddy Delaney to put over four points to Gowran’s two. John Fitzpatrick then put over a good point to increase Dunnamaggin’s lead but it was the hard working Delaney who put over Dunnamaggin’s last point. With Dunnamaggin now gaining a significant lead they continued to put pressure on the Gowran backs and finally their goal was breached with an excellent finish from Ray Cody. Paul Kirwan and Delaney continued to fight for every ball in midfield and set up Ray Cody for a well taken shot on goal but the goalie pulled off a great save but Willie Bergin was on hand to finish it to the back of the net. The Full Time score was Dunnamaggin 2 - 10 Gowran 0 - 6. Dunnamaggin now have a League semi-final spot almost guaranteed and play Railyard in the last game of the league. The date of this march has yet to be confirmed. Team:- Adam Kenneally, Stephen Lawlor, Eoghan Kearney, Jack Brett, Andrew Fitzpatrick, William Moylan, Michael Cody, Paddy Delaney, Paul Kirwan, Willie Bergin, Conor Long, John Fitzpatrick, Ronan Coffey, Paddy Power, Ray Cody.
