KILMOGANNY BRIDGE CLUB will resume Bridge on Wednesday 19th September in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny. New members are welcome. Anyone who wishes to learn the game of Bridge is invited to join the classes which will commence on Wednesday 3rd October in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny. No knowledge of card playing is necessary. For further details contact 087 – 2257498. 


ST. LEONARD’S SCHOOL, DUNAMAGGAN recently received the good news that its application for additional accommodation and the replacement of its pre-fab structure was successful and the Department of Education and Science has given it permission to seek tenders for the work. The Department now allocates a fixed sum for the work and any cost in excess of this sum must be borne by the School. Thus competitive tenders are very necessary so that the school may progress with the work.


KELLS HANDBALL CLUB: In the County 60 x 30 Championships Senior Doubles Brian Manogue/Ger McGrath (Kells) defeated William Love/Andrew Hosey (Clogh); in the Intermediate Singles Anthony Martin (Kells) defeated John O’Neill (Goresbridge) and in Senior Singles  Brian Manogue (Kells) defeated William Love (Clogh).


In the Leinster final of the 60 x 30 team events, the Kilkenny U 12/13 Team of 6 consisting of Kells Eoin Brennan, Conor Murphy and Conor Condon defeated Wexford, the U 14/15 team of 6 consisting of Kells Jack Cretan defeated Wexford and the U 16/17 team consisting of Kells Alan Funchion were defeated by Wexford.


In the All-Ireland Juvenile 60 x 30 Semi-finals in the Girls U 15 Singles Kells (Sarah Molloy) was defeated by Michaela O’Donoghue (Kerry); in the Boys U 14 Singles Kells (Roy Cullen) defeated Risteard Duggan (Limerick) and in the Boys U 17 Doubles Kells (Brendan Hyland) and Mothel (Patrick Brennan) were defeated by Shane Murphy/Denis Donegan (Limerick).


In the All-Ireland Adult 60 x 30 Semi Finals in the Under 21 Doubles Kells Patrick Funchion/Peter Funchion defeated Eamon Davern/Padraig O’Carroll (Limerick). Congratulations and well done to all and best of luck in the All-Ireland Finals.


FORT RANGERS JUVENILE SOCCER CLUB will have registration for members from 7 years and upwards on this Wednesday 15th August in Wallslough (Club Grounds0 at 7.30 p.m. New members are welcome.
