DUNAMAGGAN GYMKHANA is scheduled to take place on next Sunday August 26th. The programme is due to commence at 9.30 a.m. The programme also included a dog show and Leading Rein which are scheduled for 2.00 p.m. The proceeds of the Gymkhana will again support Carlow/Kilkenny Home Care Team and St. Joseph’s Support Home for the Elderly in Kilmoganny.

ART CLASSES FOR BEGINNERS: Those who wish to begin art classes will have an opportunity commencing at the end of September in St. Leonard’s Hall, Dunamaggan when Andrew Small will conduct classes. The classes will take place on Tuesday evenings. For further information please contact Jimmy Kehoe at 056 – 7728280.
AN INFORMATION EVENING FOR PARENTS of pupils in Junior and/or Senior Infant Classes of St. Leonard’s School, Dunamaggan will take place on this Wednesday evening at 9.00 p.m. in St. Leonard’s Hall, Dunamaggan re the Active After School, from 2.00 p.m. – 3.00 p.m.. Registration will take place at the meeting. Even if a child only avails of the Activity occasionally it is necessary for the child to be registered. All parents of Junior and Senior Infant Pupils are invited to the information evening. Tea/Coffee and refreshments will be provided.
KELLS HANDBALL CLUB: In the County 60 x 30 championships in the Intermediate Singles Peter Funchion (Kells) defeated John Morrissey (O’Loughlin’s); in the Ladies B Singles Final Denise Doyle (St. Canice’s) defeated Marie Walsh (Kells); in the Senior B Singles Final Shem Kelly (Mothel) defeated Ger McGrath (Kells).
In the Adult 60 x 30 All Ireland Finals in the Under 21 Singles Patrick Funchion (Kells) defeated Seamus O’Conghaile (Galway). In the Juvenile 60 x 30 All Ireland Finals in the Boys Under 14 Singles Roy Cullen (Kells) came up against tough opposition and was defeated by Sean Kerr (Tyrone). Congratulations on reaching the finals.
THE ANNUAL OUTING TO KNOCK organised by Windgap St. Vincent de Paul Society will take place on Saturday 8th September from Windgap church. Anyone interested in travelling is asked to contact any member of the committee.
