THE SHRUGHAWADDA PLAYERS will hold their A.G.M. on this Wednesday 17th October at 8.00 p.m. in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny. New members are very welcome to attend.

BLOOD DONATION CLINIC will take place in Grennan College, Thomastown on Tuesday next 23rd October from 5.00 p.m. – 8.30 p.m.. Donors new and old are very welcome.


A VERY SUCCESFUL FORESTRY DAY was held in the forest at Monamore, near Dunamaggan last Wednesday. In all four groups of participants attended the day. Each group had a two hour tour. The tour started at St. Leonard’s Hall, in Dunamaggan where participants signed in and were taken by bus to the forest site. In all almost 200 attended some travelling from as far as Mayo and Armagh. Creative Catering in Dunamaggan provided the catering on a day when there was no electricity as the E.S.B. had the power switched off on Tuesday & Wednesday for maintenance work. The event was organised by Teagasc.


THE ST. VINCENT De PAUL SOCIETY will hold a church door collection in Kilmoganny and Dunamaggan on the week-end of 3rd/4th November This collection is to assist it with its work in the locality.


THE NEXT MEETING OF THE HISTORY OF DUNAMAGGAN will now take place on Tuesday 30th October, a week later than originally planned. An person who has material which they consider submitting to the group for inclusion in the history are invited to do so as soon as possible.


NEWLY RETIRED PEOPLE AGEING WITH CONFIDENCE PROGRAMME: This progamme is for retired people and is specifically designed to offer older people support in living life to the full in a positive way. The course will be run over 10 Thursdays from 2.00 p.m. – 4.30 p.m. and will begin on Thursday October 25th in the Droichead Family Resource Centre, Callan. This course is run in partnership with Droichead FRC and Kilkenny Age Friendly County and is free of charge.  Please contact Droichead FRC to book a place on 056 77 555 19 Ext. 1
