THEN
NEXT MEETING RE HISTORY OF DUNAMAGGAN
will take
place in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny on Monday next 10th
December at 8.00 p.m. All are welcome to attend. Historic Photographs
especially of the three villages are most welcome.


THE
ANNUAL WINDGAP CHRISTMAS BAZAAR
will take place in
the Community Centre in Windgap on Sunday week 9th December at 2.00
p.m. The very popular annual event will have the usual events including Wheel
of Fortune, a variety of stalls, children’s entertainment, Santa and its usual
very attractive Christmas cakes.

KELLS HANDBALL
CLUB:  More All-Ireland for Kells
Handball Club. (1)
In
the All-Ireland Club 40 x 20 championships Kells Junior B Team of Brendan
Burke, Diarmuid Burke, C.J. Delaney, Anthony Martin and Dan Breen travelled to
Salthill, Galway on Saturday 1st December, 2012. They defeated
Nenagh, Co. Tipperary and Coolgreaney, Co. Wexford.  In the final they fought off stiff
competition when they met Broadford, Limerick winning out by 8 aces.  This win follows on from their recent
Provincial Interclub Junior B Team win. Congratulations to all the Kells lads on
two great achievements.


(2) The 3rd Level Colleges
40 x 20 Team championships were held in St. Joseph’s Wexford. Representing
Waterford Institute of Technology (W.I.T.) on the Open Team was Peter Funchion
(Kells), Patrick Funchion (Kells), Ger McGrath (Kells) and Noel Holohan
(Wexford). WIT defeated Carlow IT in the quarter final and DCU in the
semi-final.  They then met last year’s
Open Team winners UCD’s Martin Mulkerrins, Sam Temple, Marc McGowan and Barry
Nash in the final.  The final went down
to the wire but in the end WIT won out with 11 aces to spare.  WIT had then completed the Team double as
they added this 40 x 20 All-Ireland Inter-Varsity’s team title to their 60 x 30
team win of a month ago.


Clogh are hosting
a juvenile U 15/16 Tournament and Kells representatives are Roy Cullen, Jack
Crehan, Conor O’Dwyer and Brian Farrell. 
Good luck to them all. Clogh are also holding their annual Eddie Somers
Tournament and the Kells participants are Brendan Burke and Diarmuid
Burke.  Best of luck to them both.


 


THE
CALLAN ‘POP UP’ CHRISTMAS MARKET
will
take place in the old Co Op (beside Café L’Arche), Green St., Callan on Tuesday
December 18th and Wednesday December 19th from 10.00 a.m.
– 6.00 p.m... The Produce on offer will include: Cakes, Breads, Eggs,
Handcrafted Cards, Calendars, Hair Fascinators, Turned & Sculpted Wood,
Knitted and embroidered gifts & lots more. All are welcome to come along,
have a browse or buy some locally produced products. If
you would like to have your own stand, insurance & HSE cert is a

THE FEAST OF
THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION
will be celebrated on
8th December. Traditionally this was the day which signaled the
beginning of Christmas shopping. Masses for the feast day will be celebrated in
St. Eoghan’s Church, Kilmoganny at 7.00 p.m. Friday 7th at 7.00 p.m.
and in Tullahought at 9.00 a.m., Windgap at 10.00 a.m. and Dunamaggan at 11.00
a.m. on Saturday 8th December. The annual Advent Penitential
Services will take place on the week-end of 15th/16th
December in all Churches.  


 


THE SWITCHING
ON OF CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTS
will take place in
Kells Village at the Cross on Sunday 16th December at 6.00 p.m. The
usual celebrations will accompany the switching on of the lights.


In
Kilmoganny the switching on of the Christmas Tree Lights will take place on
Friday 21st December at 7.00 p.m. Carol singing and music will
accompany the switching on of the lights. It will be followed by a get together
in Sat. Eoghan’s Centre. All are welcome to attend.
