DUNAMAGGAN NOTES
D.K.K. Lotto: The winning numbers of the November 29th draw were: 2, 5, 21. There was no jackpot winner. The following won €30 each: K & D Ryan, Vera O’Carroll, Liz McCarthy, Nicole McCormack and Maura Davis. Next week’s jackpot will be worth €3,100. The Bingo jackpot on Saturday night’s in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny is now worth €480. The Pool number is worth €1,250.

The Annual Senior Citizen’s Party will be held in Shirley’s, Kells on next Sunday December 12th at 2.00 p.m.. All senior citizens are invited to attend. Following the meal there will be a raffle, music and entertainment for all.

Darts Exhibition Matches will take place in Shirley’s, Kells on this Saturday night at 9.00 p.m. sharp. Well known international professional darts player Perry Jenkins (the Bull) will take on a host of Kilkenny All Star Hurlers lead by Noel Hickey. The back up team will consist of Dunamaggan’s finest hurlers and dart players. The proceeds are in aid of Dunamaggan Hurling Club development funds. Your support would be very much welcomed and appreciated.

The Snow & Freezing Temperatures resulted in the closure of St. Brigid’s School, Kells, St. Eoghan’s School, Kilmoganny and St. Leonard’s School, Dunamaggan for all of last week. The children all enjoyed the opportunity to make snowmen and use their improvised sleighs to slide about on the hill sides. During the artic conditions neighbours were excellent in their care for elderly people.

The Christmas Cookery Demonstration and Fair which was to have taken place on Wednesday 1st December at 7.30 p.m. in the New Hall in St. Leonard’s School, Dunamaggan has been rearranged for Tuesday 14th December at 7.30 p.m. It is hoped that weather conditions will be favorable on this occasion. The cookery demonstration will be given by Creative Catering, Dunamaggan. The Fair will involve a number of stalls from local craft people and local food producers. Tickets costing €10 are on sale in local shops, pubs and the Credit Union. Tea/coffee will be served and there will be raffle prizes and a door prize. All proceeds are in aid of St. Leonard’s School building fund. All are welcome.

A Presentation of Medals to Kilmoganny Minor Footballers and to the U 14 Footballers and Dunamaggan U 14 Hurlers will take place in the Priory Bar, Kells on next Saturday 11th December at 6.30 p.m.

The next meeting re the History of Dunamaggan will take place in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny on next Tuesday 14th December at 8.00 p.m. All are welcome to attend. The group is now at the initial stages of editing the material which it has received.

The Annual Penitential Services in preparation for Christmas will be celebrated in St. Eoghan’s Church, Kilmoganny and in St. Leonard’s Church, Dunamaggan during the weekend of 18th and 19th December. The next monthly mass for children who will be receiving their First Holy Communion next May will be celebrated in St. Leonard’s Church, Dunamaggan on Sunday 19th December at 11.00 a.m..
