DUNAMAGGAN NOTES
D.K.K. Lotto: The winning numbers of the December 6th draw were: 17, 23, 28. There was no jackpot winner. The following won €30 each: Brigid Cuddihy, M. T. Power, Michael O’Keeffe, Catherine Conway and Betty McCormack. Next week’s jackpot will be worth €3,250. The Bingo jackpot on Saturday night’s in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny is now worth €480. The Pool number is worth €1,250.

A Christmas Bingo Special will take place in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny on Christmas night at the usual time of 8.30 p.m. Bingo was absent from Kilmoganny for two weekends because of the weather conditions. It resumes last Saturday evening. Next Saturday’s Bingo will include the usual pre-Christmas prizes. So at the end of the Christmas festivities why not join in the fun and a chance to win at the monster Bingo in Kilmoganny on Christmas night.

Progressive 25’s in St. Eoghan’s Centre which takes place on Sunday nights will be held as usual on St. Stephen’s night 26th December.

The Mass times for the Christmas Season in Dunamaggan Parish are as follows: Christmas Eve: 7.00 p.m. in St. Eoghan’s Church, Kilmoganny, 9.00 p.m. in St. Leonard’s Church, Dunamaggan; Christmas Day: 9.30 a.m. in St. Eoghan’s Church, Kilmoganny, 11.00 a.m. in St. Leonard’s Church, Dunamaggan; Sunday 26th December: 9.30 a.m. & 7.00 p.m. in St. Eoghan’s Church, Kilmoganny, 11.00 a.m. & 8.00 p.m. in St. Leonard’s Church, Dunamaggan.

The Shrughawadda Players will stage the comedy Move Over Mrs. Markham in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny from Tuesday 18th January – Friday 21st January 2011. Tickets will be available soon from the usual outlets.
Schools were disrupted by the recent inclement weather. It is hoped that from now until Christmas that there will be no further disruption as the schools are preparing their various Christmas presentations.

Medal Presentation: Dunamaggan Hurling Club and Kilmoganny Football Club held their annual medal presentation in Priory Bar, Kells on Saturday 11th December with medals presented to successful Minor Footballers, U 14 Footballers & Hurlers and Community Games teams. The Minor Football team achieved 3 in a row with victories in 2007, 2008 & 2009.
The medals were presented by county players Noel Hickey, Canice Hickey, and Tommy Walsh.
The Kilmoganny Minor Footballs were Roinn B County Final winners in 2008 & in 209 against Railyard. The Dunamaggan U14 Hurlers were Roinn D League final winners in 2009 against Galmoy. The Kilmoganny U14 Footballs were Roinn D League Final winners 2010 against Carrickshock. A special presentation of trophies were made to Aghaviller Community Games team members from Dunamaggan who were successful in winning the All Ireland for the second year in a row beating Tomevara in the Final.
The Dunamaggan Hurling Club Darts Exhibition in with Professional Terry Jenkins took on Members of the Kilkenny All Stars, Dunamaggan Hurlers and Dart Players from around the county in Shirley’s, Kells last Saturday night attracted a full house. The break in the severe weather was a great relief to the organisers.
