A Christmas Bingo Special will take place in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny on Christmas night at the usual time of 8.30 p.m. This is the first time since Bingo resumed in 2005 that Christmas day has fallen on a Saturday – the Bingo night. Special prizes on the night and all are welcome.
Progressive 25’s in St. Eoghan’s Centre which takes place on Sunday nights will be held as usual on St. Stephen’s night 26th December. All are welcome.
The Mass times for the Christmas Season in Dunamaggan Parish are as follows: Christmas Eve: 7.00 p.m. in St. Eoghan’s Church, Kilmoganny, 9.00 p.m. in St. Leonard’s Church, Dunamaggan; Christmas Day: 9.30 a.m. in St. Eoghan’s Church, Kilmoganny, 11.00 a.m. in St. Leonard’s Church, Dunamaggan; Sunday 26th December: 9.30 a.m. & 7.00 p.m. in St. Eoghan’s Church, Kilmoganny, 11.00 a.m. & 8.00 p.m. in St. Leonard’s Church, Dunamaggan.
The Shrughawadda Players will stage the comedy Move Over Mrs. Markham in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny from Tuesday 18th January – Friday 21st January 2011. Tickets are available from Kilmoganny Post Office and from Pete Moran’s.
The Annual Switching on of the Christmas Lights took place in Kells on Sunday evening at 6.00 p.m. A very large attendance was present for the occasion in dry but bitterly cold conditions. Music and song was provided by a large group of local musicians and singers. Rev. J.P. Kavanagh, Rector of Kells welcomed all present and blessed the Christmas tree. Rev. Nicholas Flavin P. P. welcomed all present and wished them the greetings of the season. He also wished Rev. J.P. Kavanagh every happiness and success in his new appointment as chaplain to DCU. He ends his ministry in Kells on 26th December. The Church of Ireland Youth Club presented Rev. Kavanagh with a thank you gift for his service to the area and in particular his work with the youth. Mull Wine and Mince Pies were available to warm up the cold bodies. Santa Clause arrived and distributed gifts to the children.
Kilmoganny Bridge Club is closed for the Christmas period and activities will resume on Wednesday 5th January at 8.00 p.m. in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny. Bridge classes for beginners will commence on Wednesday 26th January and will continue for 10 successive Wednesdays in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny at 8.00 p.m. each evening.
