BRIDGE CLASSES for beginners will commence on Wednesday 2nd October at 8.00 p.m. The lessons will run for 10 consecutive weeks and the total cost of all the lessons is €20. The lessons usually run from 8.00 p.m. – 10.30 p.m. with a break for tea/coffee/. No previous card playing knowledge is required. For further details contact 087 – 2257498. MEETING OF PARISHIONERS: All parishioners in Dunamaggan are invited to a meeting in St. Leonard’s Hall, Dunamaggan on Thursday 12th September at 8.00 p.m. The meeting is an opportunity for parishioners to give their views on any pastoral matters and activities within the parish of Dunamaggan.


 


CAMPHILL COMMUNITY OPEN DAY in Ballytobin will take place on Sunday next from 2.00 p.m. – 5.00 p.m. Among the activities are: wheel of fortune; cake sale; plant & vegetable stalls; afternoon tea/coffee; raffles; various games; numerous children’s activities etc. Donations of items for sale on the day are very welcome.


 


PRESENTATION: The Gathering Committee, Kilmoganny will make a presentation of €2,500 to each of St. Joseph’s Care Home for the Elderly and to L’Arche, Kilmoganny in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny on next Friday evening 13th September at 8.30 p.m.. All are invited to attend the event and refreshments will be provided.


 


PARENTS OF DISABLED CHILD are invited to meet with a group of parents in a similar situation and learn to be a more effective voice for the children.  Droichead Family Resource Centre will host an Empowering Parents training course in partnership with DESSA. The Empowering Parents Programme seeks to support parents to acquire the knowledge and skills to effectively advocate on behalf of their child and will run over a 6 week period commencing Wednesday 18th September. RETURN TO LEARNING BTEI Course (Level 4): This is a one year, part-time course that gives learners an opportunity to return to education in a supported learning environment. This programme is suitable for those who wish to sample a range of subjects before committing to one area. Topics covered will include Healthcare, Early Childhood Education and Care, Horticulture, and Of?ce Skills. Programme Content Compulsory: Career Planning, Study Skills, Reading and Writing Skills, Computer Skills. Optional (at least 3) : Business Calculations, Child Development, Customer Service, Drawing, Food and Nutrition, Healthcare Support, Horticulture, Painting, Personal and Interpersonal Skills, Personal Effectiveness, Teamwork, Tourism Visitor Care, Workplace Safety. SET DANCING resumes on Monday 16th September from 8.30 p.m. – 10.00 p.m. in Shirley’s, Kells. New members are always welcome.


 


BUS TO CAMOGIE ALL-IRELAND: Windgap Camogie Club which as a large membership from Dunamaggan are organising a bus to the Camogie All-Ireland in Croke Park next Sunday. Those interested in booking a place on the bus should contact Helen Walsh or Anne Foley or any member of the Camogie Committee.
