THE SHRUGHAWADDA PLAYERS promise to give their next production the full Shrughawadda treatment next week when they take to the stage with `Wake in the West` a hilarious comedy by Michael J. Ginnelly. As usual it is directed by Michael Dowling. There can be no doubt that this is one of the funniest Irish rural comedies of all time. The story tells of the attempts of the family of the late Tom Healy, a man who was known to `be fond of a drop` to carry out his last wishes controversial and all as they were. Chaos and mayhem develop as a neighbour decides that Tom should not take it all with him. This is a play of physical and verbal comedy and contains rich and colourful characters, brought to life by extraordinary performances from the cast of the Shrughawadda Players. For bookings and enquiries contact: Jackie Kenneally 087 – 9953532, Kilmoganny Post Office or Alycia Kearney 051 – 648118. Tickets are also on sale from Pete Moran’s Shop and Dunphy’s Bar, Kilmoganny.
