 KELLS CHRISTMAS LIGHTS will be switched on on next Sunday 22nd December at about 7.00 p.m. at the Cross, Kells. This year additional activities and celebrations will be added to the traditional activities. All are welcome to attend.

CHRISTMAS MASS TIMES: The Christmas mass times for the parishes of Dunamaggan and Windgap are as follows: Christmas Eve; mass in St. Nicholas’ Church, Windgap at 6.00 p.m., in St. Eoghan’s Church, Kilmoganny at 7.15 p.m. and in St. Leonard’s Church, Dunamaggan at 9.00 p.m.. On Christmas Day masses are as follows: in St. Nicholas’ Church, Tullahought at 9.00 a./m., in St. Nicholas’ Church, Windgap at 10.00 a.m. and in St. Leonard’s Church, Dunamaggan at 11.00 a.m. The Sacrament of Reconciliation will be celebrated in St. Eoghan’s Church, Kilmoganny on Saturday 21st and in St. Leonard’s Church, Dunamaggan on Sunday 22nd.


ANNUAL GENERAL MEETINGS: Dunamaggan Hurling Club and Kilmoganny Football Club will hold their Annual General Meetings on Friday 3rd January 2004. Nominations for officerships should be submitted on or before next Sunday 22nd December.


 


KILMOGANNY FOOTBALLERS HAVE MIXES FORTUNE: The U 16 footballers were first up on Saturday in truly terrible conditions. They lost the toss against a more physical stronger Freshford side and were playing against the wind in the first half. They did well to be 1 - 4 to 0 - 3  down at half time with Dara Keane scoring all Kilmoganny points. Freshford got two lucky enough goals in the second half and despite Conor Lawlor scoring a goal and Dara Keane pointing again to bring it back to within two points at one stage. Freshford finished the stronger adding another goal and two points. The final score was: Freshford 4 – 8; Kilmoganny 1 - 7. Panel:-Harry Walsh, Adam Fitzpatrick, Brian Farrell, Darragh O’Keeffe, Jack Crehan, Michael Cody, Ian Walsh, Rory Lodge, Dara Keane, Jamie McLoughlin, Chris Keane, Morgan Thomas, Nicky O’Shea(Robbie McCauley 2nd half), Luke Fitzpatrick, Conor Lawlor.


The Minors were next up on Sunday and again played in tough conditions in Bennettsbridge against Danesfort. Kilmoganny kicked well and put on a strong show with John Fitzpatrick and Andrew Fitzpatrick finding the back of the net and Dara Keane, Ray Cody, William Bergin, Paul Kirwan, Andrew Fitzpatrick all shooting the points. Full Time Score: Kilmoganny 2 - 5 Danesfort 1 - 3. They now advance to the final against Tullaroan on Saturday 28th December.  


KELLS HANDBALL CLUB: Clogh Handball Club held their Annual Eddie Somers 40 x 20 Handball Tournament and Kells had a number of players who participated.  In the Minor Tournament were Conor O’Dwyer and Robbie Donnelly and in the Juvenile Tournament were Roy Cullen, Eoin Brennan, Jack Crehan, Nick O’Shea, Michael Power, Barry Lennon, Conor Hoban, Darragh O’Keeffe, Conor Condon, Colin McKenna and Conor Murphy. Roy Cullen made it to the quarter final but due to illness had to give a walkover. In the other quarter final Jack Crehan was defeated by Dion Bourke (Mothel) and Colin McKenna was defeated by Conor Murphy.  In the semi- finals Conor Murphy defeated Marc Purcell (Clogh) and Dion Bourke (Mothel) defeated Ciaran Cooney (Clogh).  In the final Conor Murphy defeated Dion Bourke (Mothel).  Congratulations and well done to Conor and to all who participated in the Clogh Handball Tournament.  Kells Handball Club would like to wish all their members a very Happy Christmas and good luck in their handball in 2014.
