THE INAUGRAL DUNNA 5Km DASH took place on Sunday last 23rd February on a blustery but dry afternoon. The Family Fun Run was in aid of St. Leonard’s National School. 230 entrants lined up at the start and completed the 5km race. First runner home was local athlete Luke Fitzpatrick in a time of 18min 39sec and he took first juvenile place. Second finisher was Sean Connery in 18min 50sec and he took first Male prize. Donna Dowling was the first female to cross the line in 20min 15sec. All juveniles who completed the course received a medal at the finish and to see the children’s happy faces as they crossed the line was worth everything.
A huge thank you to all the volunteers on the day without whom the race could not have been possible and to all who helped in anyway in making the race a success. Check out the photos of the event on www.DKK.ie.

DUNAMAGGAN G.A.A. PRESENTATIONS: Dunnamaggin Adult and Juvenile GAA clubs recently held a presentation evening to honour their teams’ achievements over the previous year in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny. Chairmen John Fitzpatrick and John Hickey welcomed everyone and congratulated players, parents and mentors on their great efforts over the last year and the silverware on display was a just reward. These efforts will have to be continued next year especially as all grades will now be competing in Roinn B. Paddy Moore who retired earlier this year from mowing the playing field after many many years was also presented later that evening with a token of the clubs appreciation for his commitment to the club and we wish him well in his retirement.
