Dunna Dash - A Huge success

23 February 2014

THE INAUGRAL DUNNA 5Km DASH took place on Sunday last 23rd February on a blustery but dry afternoon. The Family Fun Run was in aid of St. Leonard’s National School. 230 entrants lined up at the start and completed the 5km race. First runner home was local athlete Luke Fitzpatrick in a time of 18min 39sec and he took first juvenile place. Second finisher was Sean Connery in 18min 50sec and he took first Male prize. Donna Dowling was the first female to cross the line in 20min 15sec. All juveniles who completed the course received a medal at the finish and to see the children’s happy faces as they crossed the line was worth everything.
A huge thank you to all the volunteers on the day without whom the race could not have been possible and to all who helped in anyway in making the race a success. Check out the photos of the event http://dkk.ie/23/DUNNA_DASH_23rd_Feb_2014_photos.html.
