A MOUSE RACE NIGHT will take place in the Auld House, Killamery on this Saturday 22nd March at 8.00 p.m. Why not join in this unique entertainment and discover if your judgment of live mice racing is as good as or better than that of horses or dogs. This novel night’s entertainment is in aid of Windgap Community Projects and is expected to attract many patrons. Tote betting will be available on the night.

A COFFEE MORNING will be held in St. Leonard’s Hall, Dunamaggan on Friday 28th March from 9.00 a.m. – 12.00 noon. This is to raise funds to support voluntary work with vulnerable children in Uganda. Joanna & Aishling Cody will undertake this work for 3 week. Lines may also be purchased so as to win Easter Hampers, in local businesses. The cost is €2 per line or 3 for €5. Your support would be greatly appreciated for this very worthy venture.


 


U 8 HURLING TRAINING will resume indoors on this Friday 21st March in Wallslough from 6.30 p.m.-7.30 p.m. sharp. Please be on time as the court is only available for one hour. The cost is €3 per player. Those who have not already registered may do so on the night.


 


ALL IRELAND SUCCESS: Congratulations to Michaela Kenneally from Kilmoganny who was full back on the All-Ireland Camogie winning Presentation Secondary School team. Michaela is a member of the Windgap Camogie Club. Her brother was a member of the St. Kieran’s College winning panel of a few years and thus the Kenneally family is one of the few families where a brother and sister have both won All Ireland Colleges Senior titles.


 


KELLS HANDBALL: In the County 40 x 20 championships in Intermediate Singles Anthony Martin (Kells) defeated John Morrissey (O'Loughlin’s); in the Masters B Singles Paddy Fennelly (Kells) was defeated by Jimmy Purcell (Windgap) and Pat Funchion (Kells) got a walkover from John Ryan (Windgap); in the Ladies  Junior B Singles Kirsty Maher (Kells) defeated Denise Love Clogh); in the Senior Doubles Patrick Funchion/Peter Funchion (Kells) got a walkover from Nickey Anthony/Ger Anthony (Mullinavat).  In the Juvenile Leinster 40 x 20 finals in the Girls U 15 Doubles Margaret Purcell (Windgap) and Kym Ryan (Kells) defeated Lauren Flanagan/Siobhan Elms (Wexford); in the Girls U 17 Doubles Karen Walsh/Sarah Molloy (Kells) defeated Andrea Cooke/Clodagh Hannify (Offaly); in the Boys U 16 Doubles Roy Cullen/Conor Murphy (Kells) defeated Ciaran Flanagan/Michael Varley (Dublin). In the Adult 40 x 20 All Ireland Semi-finals in Intermediate Singles Peter Funchion (Kells) beat Shane O’Neill (Tyrone); in the Junior Doubles Brendan Burke (Kells) and Ciaran Neary (Talbot’s Inch) defeated Ryan Daly/Patrick McRory (Tyrone) and in the Intermediate Doubles Patrick Funchion/Peter Funchion (Kells) defeated Mark McGowan/Mark Marley (Donegal).


 


KILMOGANNY BRIDGE CLUB RESULTS of Wednesday 12th March: 1st Emer Wallace & Carmel O’Sullivan. On Wednesday 26th March the Bridge night is a charity night. Bridge takes place every Wednesday in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny at 8.00 p.m. It is not necessary to have a partner.


HISTORY OF DUNAMAGGAN will hold its next meeting on Tuesday 1st April at 8.00 p.m. in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny. Material already submitted is now being edited. The committee would request anyone with outstand material to submit it as soon as possible. Material may be dropped into the Parochial House in Dunamaggan at any time.


Congratulations to Michael Cody, Dunamaggan, who was a member of the St. Kieran’s College team which qualified for the All-Ireland Semi-Final on Saturday last when they defeated Loughrea, from co. Galway.
