A COFFEE MORNING will be held in St.
Leonard’s Hall, Dunamaggan on Friday 28th March from 9.00 a.m. –
12.00 noon. This is to raise funds to support voluntary work with vulnerable
children in Uganda. Joanna & Aishling Cody will undertake this work for 3
week. Lines may also be purchased so as to win Easter Hampers, in local
businesses. The cost is €2 per line or 3 for €5. Your support would be greatly
appreciated for this very worthy venture.

U 6 HURLING TRAINING will resume indoors on Friday evenings in Wallslough from 6.30 p.m.-7.30
p.m. sharp. The U 6’s will join the U 8’s for this training. Please be on time
as the court is only available for one hour. The cost is €3 per player. Those
who have not already registered may do so on the night.


 


DUNAMAGGAN PARISH PASTORAL
COUNCIL
made the following decisions at its recent
meeting  (1) The mass of Healing & Welcome will be
celebrated this year at the Grotto on Thursday 22nd May at 7.30 p.m.
followed by picnic, music and chat in the grounds of St. Leonard’s Church; (2)
the mass for students sitting examinations will be celebrated on Saturday 31st
May at 7.00 p.m. in St. Eoghan’s Church, Kilmoganny; (3) Schedule of times for
Holy Week Ceremonies: Holy Thursday: Windgap at 7.00 p.m.; Dunamaggan at 8.00
p.m.; Good Friday: Windgap at 2.00 p.m.; Dunamaggan at 3.15 p.m.; Kilmoganny at
7.00 p.m. & Tullahought at 8.00 p.m. The Sacrament of Reconciliation will
be celebrated during the ceremonies; Holy Saturday: Kilmoganny at 6.45 p.m.;
Windgap at 7.45 p.m. & Dunamaggan at 9.00 p.m. (4) Palm Sunday Mass times:
Tullahought at 9.00 a.m.; Windgap at 9.45 a.m.; Dunamaggan at11.00 a.m. (Celebration
of the Sacrament of Confirmation). (5) Additional members of the Pastoral
Council are very welcome. If you are interested or know of someone who is please
contact any member of the Pastoral Council.


 


KILMOGANNY PUBLIC MEETING: A very well attended Public
meeting was held last Thursday in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny to discuss
recent crime in the area and a proposal to erect Street Cameras in the village.
Cllr Matt Doran Chaired and addressed the meeting. Garda Sargent Ted Hughes
gave an informative presentation of the importance of cameras in the solving of
crime. Local garda Richard Condon was also present. There was unanimous
agreement that cameras should be installed in the Village. Speaking on behalf
of the Kilmoganny Area Development Association Rev. Nicholas Flavin thanked all
who contribute to the weekly Lotto as a portion of the profits from the Lotto
is for projects in the Kilmoganny area. He also stressed the importance of
continued support for the Lotto and invited those who do not already support
the Lotto to consider supporting it. It was agreed that funding from this
source would fund the project.


 


KELLS HANDBALL:  In the Adult All Ireland Finals in
Intermediate Singles Peter Funchion (Kells) defeated Shane Hedigan (Cork)
21-14, 21-15. In the Juvenile 40 x 20 All Ireland Semi Finals which were played
in Ulster venues in the Boys U 16 Doubles Roy Cullen/Conor Murphy (Kells) were
defeated by Matthew McCartan/Pauric Mullan (Tyrone); in the Girls U 15 Doubles
Kym Ryan (Kells) and Margaret Purcell (Windgap) were defeated by Meabh
McCambridge/Beth Doris (Armagh) and in the Girls U 17Doubles Karen Walshe/Sarah
Molloy (Kells) were defeated by Meabh McMahon/Kaitlin Fleville (Armagh). In the Juvenile County B Championships representing Kells in the U 10
Boys Singles were Michael Thomas and Emmet Nolan and in the U 10 Boys Doubles
were Jim Power and Emmet Nolan; in the U 11 Boys Singles were John O’Brien and
Conor Brennan and in the U 11 Boys Doubles were Matthew O’Sullivan and John
O’Brien; in the U 12 Boys Singles were Oisin Egan, Joe Cowhig and Tomas Leahy
who reached the semi-final; in the U 13 Boys Singles were Colm Nolan, James
Shirley and Leo Capasso; in the U 14 Boys Singles were Colin McKenna and Barry
Lennon; in the U 15 Boys Singles were Dan Blanchfield, Nick O’Shea, John
Prendergast, David Bourke and eventual winner Rory Lodge. Congratulations and

KILMOGANNY BRIDGE CLUB
RESULTS
of Wednesday 19th March: 1st
Ita Crowley & Jackie Kenneally, 2nd: Nellie Lahart &
Myra Hickey; 3rd: Concepta Moore & Eimear Wallace. On this Wednesday
26th March the Bridge night is a charity night. Bridge takes place
every Wednesday in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny at 8.00 p.m. It is not
necessary to have a partner.


 


HISTORY OF DUNAMAGGAN will hold its next meeting on Tuesday 1st April at 8.00
p.m. in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny. Material already submitted is now
being edited. The committee would request anyone with outstand material to
submit it as soon as possible. Material may be dropped into the Parochial House
in Dunamaggan at any time.


 




MASS FOR CHILDREN who will receive their
First Holy Communion in May will be celebrated on Sunday 6th April
in St. Leonard’s Church, Dunamaggan, and a week earlier than scheduled as
Confirmation will be celebrated on Palm Sunday 13th April.
