THE KILKENNY COMMUNITY & VOLUNTARY FORUM
A.G.M.
will take place in the Ormond Hotel, Kilkenny on Thursday 10th
April at 8.00 p.m. Registration is from 7.30 p.m. Representatives of all Community &
Voluntary Groups from Dunamaggan, the City & County are invited to attend. The following topics will be addressed: (1)The Changes in Local Government and how these impact on Community
& Voluntary Groups; (2) Leader & Social Inclusion Funding &
Supports for Voluntary activity: (3) Sources of Bridging Finance and Funding
Supports for Community Groups; (4) Value for money Insurance; (5) Kilkenny
Community & Voluntary Forum, its activities and how you can get involved.

KELLS HANDBALL:  In the Juvenile
Leinster 40 x 20 Team of 6 the U 12/13 Team consisting of Dylan Crehan
(Kells), Peter McDonald (Kilfane), Jack Holden (Kilfane), Jamie Maher (Clogh),
Jack Doyle (Windgap), Kyle Dunne (Clogh), Jack Buggy (Clogh) and Billy O'Neill
(Clogh) defeated Laois in the semi-final but were beaten by Wexford in the
Final.  The U 14/15 team of 6 of Rory
Lodge (Kells), Cillian Lafford (Kells), Conor Hoban (Kells), Shane Cullen
(Windgap), Jack Hayes (Windgap), Pat Grace (Windgap), Aidan Barry (Clogh) and
Jack Kelly (Goresbridge) got a walkover from Laois and beat Wexford in the
Final. The U 16/17 Team of 4 of Jack Crehan (Kells), James Culleton (Windgap),
Robert White (Windgap), Patrick King (Goresbridge), Declan Whearty (Mothel) and
Conor Fahey (Mothel) defeated Offaly but were beaten by Wexford in the Leinster
Final.


In the Adult All Ireland 40 x 20
Finals in the Intermediate Doubles Patrick Funchion and Peter Funchion (Kells)
defeated Ollie Conway and Pat Conway (Galway) 21 - 10, 21 - 13; in the Junior
Doubles Brendan Burke (Kells) and Ciaran Neary (Talbot’s Inch) defeated Tadhg
Carroll and Dale Cusack (Cork) 14 - 21, 21 - 18, 21 - 12. Congratulations and
well done to you all on great achievements for the Kells Handball Club.





KILMOGANNY BRIDGE CLUB held a very successful Charity Bridge Night on Wednesday 26th
March. €277 was raised for St. John’s Ambulance. The winning pair on the night was
Philip Brennan and Margaret O’Shea


 


MASS FOR CHILDREN who will receive
their First Holy Communion in May will be celebrated on Sunday 6th
April in St. Leonard’s Church, Dunamaggan, and a week earlier than scheduled as
Confirmation will be celebrated on Palm Sunday 13th April. The 46
children for the Parish of Dunamaggan attended a one day retreat in Peace in
Christ on Tuesday in preparation for their Confirmation.


 


HOLY WEEK CEREMONIES: The dates and times
of Holy week ceremonies are as follows: Holy Thursday: Windgap at 7.00 p.m.;
Dunamaggan at 8.00 p.m.; Good Friday: Windgap at 2.00 p.m.; Dunamaggan at 3.15
p.m.; Kilmoganny at 7.00 p.m. & Tullahought at 8.00 p.m. The Sacrament of
Reconciliation will be celebrated during the ceremonies; Holy Saturday:
Kilmoganny at 6.45 p.m.; Windgap at 7.45 p.m. & Dunamaggan at 9.00 p.m. (4)
Palm Sunday Mass times: Tullahought at 9.00 a.m.; Windgap at 9.45 a.m.;
Dunamaggan at11.00 a.m. (Celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation).


 


HURLING TRAINING FOR U 6
& U 8 MEMBERS:
The new training schedule for U 6
& U 8 hurlers of Dunamaggan Hurling Club is as follows: U 6’s hurling in Wallslough
on Fridays at 6.30 p.m. sharp. The U 8’s resume outdoors training in
Dunnamaggin national school at 11.30 a.m. on this Saturday morning.  


 


MOBILE PHONE FOUND:  A mobile phone was found on the street in
Dunamaggan on Sunday last. Enquiries to the presbytery.
