THE PAT WALSH ANNUAL PARADE will take place in
Dunamaggan on next Sunday, Easter Sunday. The commemorations begin with 11.00
a.m. mass which is followed by the Parade and addresses. The evening concluded
with a Cabaret in Townsend’s Bar on Easter Sunday evening. The proceeds this
year will assist the Nurturing Africa Appeal which Johanna & Aisling Cody
are undertaking.

KELLS HANDBALL:  In the Adult 40 x
20 championships in the Ladies B Singles Kirsty Maher (Kells) was defeated by
Catherine Foley (Windgap); in the final of the Junior B Singles Patrick Brennan (Mothel) defeated John Fitzgerald (Kells) in the 3rd
game;  The 40 x 20 Irish Junior
Nationals qualifiers weekend was held on 5th/6th April
2014 in various venues and in the B 13 & Under Michael Power (Kells)
defeated Jack Lee (Tipperary) but was then defeated by Fionn Cusack
(Roscommon); also in the B 13& Under Dylan Crehan (Kells) defeated Alan
O’Connor (Cork) and Connor Finn (Sligo); in the B 15 & Under Jack Crehan
(Kells) was defeated by Darragh Burke (Clare) and in the B 15 & Under Eoin
Brennan (Kells) got a walkover from Evan Murphy (Limerick). The Junior Nationals Finals were held in
Clare over the weekend of 12th/13th April, 2014.  In B 13 & Under Dylan Crehan (Kells) was
defeated by Luke White (Tipperary) in the 3rd game; in the B 15&
Under Eoin Brennan (Kells) was defeated by Turlough Clarke (Tyrone).
Congratulations to all who participated in the Junior Nationals. Kells Handball
Club wishes all our members a very Happy Easter.

GOOD FRIDAY PROGRESSIVE 25’S will be held in St.
Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny on April 18th at 8.30 p.m. Refreshments
will be served. Admission is €10 and raffle. The proceeds are in aid of
Carlow/Kilkenny Home Care Team in memory of the late Rodger Cummins.


 


HOLY WEEK CEREMONIES: The Holy Week
ceremonies will be as follows: Palm Sunday Mass times: Tullahought at 9.00
a.m.; Windgap at 9.45 a.m.; Dunamaggan at11.00 a.m. Confirmation will be
celebrated in Dunamaggan during 11.00 a.m. mass. Holy Thursday: Windgap at 7.00
p.m.; Dunamaggan at 8.00 p.m.; Good Friday: Windgap at 2.00 p.m.; Dunamaggan at
3.15 p.m.; Kilmoganny at 7.00 p.m. & Tullahought at 8.00 p.m. The Sacrament
of Reconciliation will be celebrated during the ceremonies on Good Friday; Holy
Saturday: Kilmoganny at 6.45 p.m.; Windgap at 7.45 p.m. & Dunamaggan at
9.00 p.m.


 


ELECTRICAL GOOD COLLECTION: WEEE Ireland
collection of unwanted Electrical Goods will take place in the Cark Park,
Windgap, beside the lake, on Thursday next 17th April from 9.00 a.m.
– 12.00 noon. It is important that no items are left other than in the
container which will take them away.


KELLS VILLAGE MEETING with the theme of Making our Community Safer will take
place in the Kells Community Hall on this Thursday evening at 8.30 p.m. Sargent
Ted Hughes, Thomastown Garda Station and Cllr Matt Doran will address the
meeting.


 


CCTV CAMERAS NOW ACTIVE IN KILMOGANNY: New CCTV cameras
have been installed and are now active in Kilmoganny Village. Local Garda
Richard Condon, Sargent Ted Hughes and Cllr Matt Doran were the driving forces
behind the project which receive 100% backing at the recent meeting in the
Village. The weekly contributions to the Local DKK lotto was a significant
contribution to the cost of the installation. The local community and Lotto organisers
would encourage all households to contribute to the Lotto as it is of great
assistance to projects in each of the three villages in the parish of
Dunamaggan and to the local G.A.A.


 


TROCAIRE BOXES should be returned
to local churches as soon as possible now that lent is drawing to a close. The
contributions will be of great assistance to Trocaire in its work of supporting
community self-reliance in Africa.
