KELLS SCOUTS: On Sat 3rd May 22 Beavers from the 6th
Kilkenny, Kells group got to visit the airport in Waterford. The highlight of
the visit was getting a tour of the Coast Guard search and rescue helicopter.
This included a chance to get into the helicopter and a lucky few even had a go
at being winched to safety! The Group is very thankful to the two crew members
on duty who gave a really interesting and fun talk to the Beavers about what
they do. They also answered a few very interesting questions very well!! Huge
thanks also to the uncle of one of our Beavers who organised the visit. All had
a great afternoon. A donation was given to the ISPCC at the crew members’
request.

MAIREAD MORAN who died tragically in Kilkenny was laid to rest in Kilmoganny
cemetery on Tuesday week last. She is survived by her parents Peter and Margo
and her sisters Colette and Michelle. On Tuesday afternoon her remains were
removed for her parent’s home in Rossenarra. The weather just before the
removal became bright and sunny and continued so with some clouds until after
the burial. An exceptionally large attendance was present and the ceremony was
relayed by sound to the vast gathering outside the church and also to St.
Matthew’s Church of Ireland church which is nearby.

Her remains were received by Rev. Nicholas Flavin P.P. who was main
celebrant at the mass and the co-concelebrants were Revs Fergus Farrell,
William Dalton, Pascal Moore, Tom McGree and . At the request of the family the
ceremony was simply with beautiful music. Her Mother, Margo, gave a very moving
and simple tribute to her after communion. After mass she was laid to rest in
Kilmoganny Cemetery. May she lest in peace.

There was a great expression of sympathy from the local community
and the local community with the assistance of the Gardaí ensured that traffic
management was excellent. After the burial refreshments were available in St.
Eoghan’s Centre where once again the local community excelled in its response
to the occasion. Her month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated in St. Eoghan’s
Church on Saturday 7th June at 7.00 p.m.
