DUNAMAGGAN HURLING CLUB will hold its annual registration day for Juveniles and adults on Sunday 13th March from 11.30 a.m. in St. Leonard’s Hall, Dunamaggan. Parents/guardians of juveniles are remaindered that they must be present to register their children. The club also expressed its thanks at its recent meeting to the Shrughawadda Players for the €1,535 which the club raised at the recent drama performance by the Shrughawadda Players on the Wednesday night of the performance.
THE PARISH MISSION begun in Dunamaggan Parish on last Sunday. There was a very large attendance at 11.00 a.m. mass in Dunamaggan on Sunday where the missioners gave special blessings to infants and young children at the end of mass. The Mission ceremonies commenced on Sunday evening. The sacrament of reconciliation will be part of the ceremonies on this Wednesday evening at 7.00 p.m. in Kilmoganny and at 8.00 p.m. in Dunamaggan. During the final masses on Saturday evening all groups/organisations in the parish are invited to present symbols of their group/organisation at the masses.
THE NEXT FUNDRAISING MEETING re the development of sporting facilities in Dunamaggan Parish will take place on this Thursday evening at 9.00 p.m. in St. Leonard’s Hall, Dunamaggan. The committee recognises the need for a significant fundraising venture so that its plans will be implemented. It hopes to have plans for such a venture finalised shortly.
THE ANNUAL MASS in St. Eoghan’s Church, Kilmoganny for those who died in infancy and pre-birth and their families will be celebrated on Saturday 12th March at 7.00 p.m. All are welcome to attend the mass.
KILMOGANNY BRIDGE CLUB recently elected Pascal Grace as its president, Nicholas Flavin as secretary and Ellen Delahunty as treasurer. The club has also affiliated to the Contract Bridge Association of Ireland. The club bridge night is each Wednesday at 8.00 p.m. in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny. THE DUNAMAGGAN HISTORY GROUP will hold its next meeting on Tuesday next 8th March at 8.00 p.m. in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny. The committee chairperson, Rev. Nicholas Flavin, stated that while a significant amount of material submitted has been drafted for initial editing it is the belief of the committee that relevant documentation, photos and information relating to the history of the past 40 – 70 years has not yet been submitted. He requests that anyone with such material should attend meeting of the group or make the material available in the near future.
ASH WEDNESDAY is this day week, 9th March. The annual blessing and distribution of ashes will take place during masses at 9.30 a.m. in St. Leonard’s Church, Dunamaggan, at 12.10 p.m. in St. Joseph’s Home, Kilmoganny and at 7.00 p.m. in St. Eoghan’s Church, Kilmoganny.
