KILMOGANNY BRIDGE CLUB: The results of Wednesday 6th August were: 1st:
Grace Landy & Elizabeth Lanigan; 2nd Nellie Lahart & Myra
Hickey; 3rd Mary Delaney & Emer Wallace.


 Bridge Classes for
beginners will be held in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny on Wednesday evenings
at 8.00 p.m. The classes will commence on the first Wednesday in October. For
further information from 087 – 2257498. The lessons last for 10 weeks and the
total cost is €20. Bridge is held in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny each Wednesday
at 8.00 p.m. As this is the season when a number of Bridge Clubs cease playing
for the summer visitors and new members are welcome in Kilmoganny. Partners

GOLF CLASSIC: The Annual Dunamaggin GAA golf classic will be held on this Friday
15th & Saturday 16th August at the usual venue of
Callan Golf Club. Support for this great event is very welcome. Contact Michael

KELLS HANDBALL: In the 60 x 30 Junior Interclub championship Kells Handball
Club team of Brendan Burke, Diarmuid Burke, Dan Breen, Anthony Martin and Ger
McGrath defeated Brackey (Tyrone) in the All Ireland semi-final 105-53 and
defeated Fenagh (Leitrim) 87-56 in the All Ireland Final. Well done to all the
lads who have added the Junior Interclub All Ireland title to their Junior B
Interclub All Ireland title last year. The County Juvenile 60 x 30 championships continued with
Kells representatives in the boys U 15 Singles Conor Condon and Darragh
O’Keeffe and in the Girls U 12 Doubles were Meg Ryan/Sal Ryan who were beaten
in the final by Clogh, in the Girls U 13 Doubles were Laura Condon/Meg Ryan who
were beaten in the final by Mothel, in the Girls U 14 Doubles were Kym
Ryan/Kate Cowhig who became county champions, in the Girls U 17 Doubles were
Elaine Power/Aoife Walsh who also became county champions. In the Boys U 13
Doubles were Mickey Prendergast/Colm Nolan and Dylan Crehan/Dillon Wall who
were defeated in the final by Clogh, in the Boys U 14 Doubles were Michael
Power/Eoin Brennan who were defeated in the final by Kilfane, in the Boys U 15 Doubles
were Conor Condon/Darragh O’Keeffe who were beaten in the final by Clogh and in
the Boys U 16 Doubles were Roy Cullen/Conor Murphy who were the eventual county
winners defeating Mothel in the final.


 




CONGRATULATIONS
to Pat Hoban, manager of the victorious Kilkenny
minor hurling team who defeated Waterford to reach the All-Ireland final on 7th
September. Pat, a native of Mullinavat, lives in Kells and also to David
Herity, Dunamaggan who again kept a clean sheet in goal for Kilkenny in their
defeat of Limerick and also on reaching the Senior Hurling Final on September 7th.  Michael Cody is a member of the extended
minor panel and William Phelan is a member of the extended senior panel.
