BRIDGE LESSONS FOR
BEGINNERS:
The last opportunity to participate in
the current bridge lessons in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny on Wednesdays is
this Wednesday October 8th at 8.00 p.m. The lessons last about 2 ½
hours each night and this includes tea/coffee. The lessons are for a period of
10 weeks and the total cost is just €20. No previous card playing experience is
required. There is no need to pre-book, just turn up on this Wednesday night.

ENROLMENT MASS: The enrolment mass for children who will receive their First Holy
Communion next may took place in St. Leonard’s Church, Dunamaggan for children
from the three schools in the parish, The children who participated are: Costello,
Pierce; Doherty, Tim; Fallon, Caitlin; Flis, Hubert; Gilmore, Louisa; Lahart,
Ellen; McCormack, Jack; Moore, David; O’Neill, Ava Lily; Rossiter, Sean; Ryan,

THOMAS O’SHEA BLITZ: Dunnamaggin GAA club hosted the annual Thomas O'Shea blitz in
radiant sunshine last Saturday morning. U 8 teams from Dunnamaggin, Gowran(2),
John Lockes, Dicksboro, Piltown, Ballyhale Shamrocks and Thomastown were
divided into two groups. Each group played three games of 8 minutes a half. A
break for refreshments for all was then had before the finals were played. The
group winners saw a country vs city battle with Piltown up against Dicksboro
and the city side turned out to be eventual winners. All participants were
presented with goodie bags and medals by county players Willie Phelan and David
Herity. The photograph attached shows Nicky O'Shea presenting the trophy to
Dicksboro mentors with the winning team members. Thanks to all who helped out
on the day and made it so memorable. 


 


JUVENILE TRAINING ENDS FOR
THIS SEASON:
The U 6,7 & 10 hurling season came
to an end on Saturday morning last when they had their last training session of
the year. Players enjoyed fun games and some traditional hurling before they
were joined by county players Willie Phelan and David Herity who rushed out
from town after their official team photo to join in their training. All
players were presented with personalised certs signed by the county players and
goodie bags. Club PRO James Rossiter addressed the players and parents and
thanked everyone for their efforts throughout the year and reminded them to
keep practicing until the new season resumes next year. He finally wished all
players who were stepping up to a new age grade good luck in the challenge.

12 BLITZ WINNERS:
The Dunnamaggin U 12 team won the Danesfort blitz on
Saturday last. They played Middleton from Cork in the first round and Danesfort
in the Semi-final coming from behind in both games to win. They then played
Thomastown in the Final and lead all the way to the final whistle. They were
then presented with the trophy by County corner back Paul Murphy. Panel:- Denis

Best wishes to the Dunnamaggin Intermediate Team and their mentors Niall
McCormack, Seamus Knox and John Hickey who take on St. Patrick’s, Ballyragget
on Sunday at 4.00p.m. in St. John’s Park in the Intermediate Championship
Quarter-Finals.
