KILMOGANNY BRIDGE CLUB: The results of Wednesday 8th October were: 1st:
Emer Wallace & Carmel O’Sullivan; 2nd: Margaret O’Shea et al; 3rd:
Mary Lonergan & Margaret Dunne. Bridge is played each Wednesday in St.
Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny at 8.00 p.m. Visitors and new members are welcome.

MASS FOR CHILDREN who will receive their First Holy Communion next May will be
celebrated in St. Leonard’s Church, Dunamaggan, next Sunday 19th October
at 11.00 a.m. During mass rosary beads will be blessed.


 


HISTORY OF DUNAMAGGAN:  At its next meeting on
Tuesday 28th October the committee would welcome material on old
sayings, old cures etc from bygone days. The meeting takes place in St.
Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny at 8.00 p.m. and all who wish to attend are
welcome.


 


KELLS HANDBALL CLUB: In the Juvenile 60 x 30 All
Ireland the Boys U 16 Doubles Roy Cullen (Kells)/Dion Bourke (Mothel) got
through the semi-final but unfortunately were defeated in the All Ireland final
by Jason English/Colin Ryan (Tipperary). Good luck to the Girls U 17 Doubles
Elaine Power/Aoife Walshe (Kells) in their All Ireland final.   In the Leinster finals of the U12/13 Team of
6, the Kilkenny Team of Dylan Crehan (Kells), Billy
O'Neill, Kyle Dunne, Jamie Maher, Jack Buggy, 
Eamon Brennan (Clogh), Tom Holden and Peter McDonald (Kilfane) defeated
Wexford 89 - 52. In the U 14/15 Team of 6, Cillian Lafford, Conor Hoban, Conor
Condon, Colin McKenna, Eoin Brennan, Darragh O'Keeffe (Kells), Aidan Barry
(Clogh) and Robert Dowling (Mothel) were defeated by Wexford 76 - 66.


The Irish 40 x 20
Nationals will be held in Kilkenny/Carlow/Laois venues over the weekend of 14th-16th
November 2014. Entries can only be made on the GAA Handball Website no later
than 17th November.


 


THE DUNAMAGGAN PARISH
PASTORAL COUNCIL
will hold its next meeting on
Tuesday next 21st October at 8.00 p.m. in St. Eoghan’s Centre,
Kilmoganny. The council would welcome suggestions at any time and such
suggestions may be made to any member of the Parish Council or dropped in in
writing to the presbytery.


 


FUNDRAISING EVENT: AdVIC, a charity which works closely with the families of homicide
victims are holding a fundraising event in the Rive Court Hotel on Saturday 1st
November. Music is by Bench Warrant. There is no admission charge but donations
are welcome on the night or for the raffle. Further details from John Whelan

The
PPN is the new structure devised by the Department of the Environment for the
involvement of Community, Environmental, Voluntary and all such groups in the
policy development at County and sub County level. If your group wishes to be
involved then it must register with the Co. Council before the 31st
October.
