KILMOGANNY BRIDGE CLUB: The results of Wednesday 17th December which were for
small prizes were: 1st: Grace Landy & Elizabeth Lanigan; 2nd;
Carmel O’Sullivan & Nellie O’Shea; 3rd: Paul Tomsett & David
Sutton; 4th; Margaret Dunne & Mary Delaney; 5th; Emer
Wallace & Betty Cuddihy. Bridge is played each Wednesday in St. Eoghan’s
Centre, Kilmoganny at 8.00 p.m. Visitors and new members are welcome. Bridge
resumes after the Christmas break on Wednesday 7th January at 8.00
p.m.

KELLS HANDBALL CLUB: In the 40 x 20 League in Division 2
Anthony Martin (Kells) defeated Philip Lonergan (Windgap) and Diarmuid Burke
(Kells) defeated John Morrissey (O’Loughlin’s); in the Masters Division 3 Paddy
Fennelly (Kells) defeated Gerry Murphy (Goresbridge); in Division 1 Peter
Funchion (Kells) defeated Ciaran Neary (Talbot’s Inch) and in the Masters
Division 3 Paddy Fennelly (Kells) defeated Simon Walsh (Windgap).



The Leinster 40 x 20 championship have commenced and in the Junior
B Singles Anthony Martin (Kilkenny) got a walkover from  Rob Farrelly (Dublin) and Philip Lonergan
(Kilkenny); in  the Ladies Junior B
Singles Christina Donoghue (Offaly) defeated Sarah Molloy (Kilkenny) and also
in the Ladies Junior B Singles Kirsty Maher (Kilkenny) defeated  Serina Dempsey  (Offaly). In the Juvenile 40 x 20 league in the Girls U 15 Kym Ryan (Kells)
defeated Kate Cowhig (Kells); in the Girls U 13 A Ciara Walsh (Kells) defeated
Nicole Dowling (Clogh); in the Girls U 17 B Cora Delaney (Clogh)  and 
Aoife Walsh (Kells) won one game each, in the Girls
U 13 A   Olivia Mahoney (Kells) defeated
Emer Dunphy (Windgap), in
the Girls U 15 Kym Ryan (Kells) defeated Laura Condon (Kells), in the Girls U
15 Kym Ryan (Kells) defeated Roisin O’Keeffe (Kilfane) and in the Boys U 16 B
Nick O’Shea (Kells)  and  Dan Blanchfield (Kells) won a game each.
Kells Handball Club would like to wish all our members and their families a
very happy Christmas and a peaceful New Year.



 


ANNUAL GENERAL MEETINGS: Dunamaggan Hurling
Club will hold its A.G.M. on Friday 9th January and Kilmoganny
Football Club will hold its A.G.M. on Friday 9th January. Dunamaggan
Juvenile G.A.A. will hold its A.G.M. on Friday 16th January. Further
details will be published next week.


 


CHRISTMAS HOMECOMING: A large number of
natives of the parish made the journey home for Christmas, some of them who
travelled from as far away as Australia. Thus the attendance at all religious
celebrations in the parish was such that the various churches were filled
almost to capacity.
