GAELIC4GIRLS COMING TO DUNNAMAGGIN: Dunnamaggin Ladies Gaelic Football club are delighted to have been
selected by the Ladies Gaelic Football Association to participate in an
exciting new programme called Gaelic4Girls which is commencing on the 14th
March 2015. Gaelic4Girls is initially an 8 week programme aimed at increasing
participation in Ladies Gaelic Football. The programme targets girls aged between
8-12 years. It is not necessary to be a registered member of the club to take
part and the programme is ideal for girls who want a ‘taster’ of Gaelic
Football before committing to club membership. Gaelic4Girls is focused on fun
and participation, allowing girls to get an introduction to Ladies Gaelic
Football in a non-competitive environment.
It will be held in Dunnamaggin GAA Grounds every Saturday from 10.15a.m.
- 11.15 a.m., commencing on the 14th March. On completion of the
programme, participants are presented with certificates and t-shirts for their
participation. Following the 8 weeks program, any player who wishes to continue
playing must become a member of the club and then they can continue the program
for a further four weeks. This culminates with a National Blitz played in Croke
Park at the end of the 12 weeks. The girls can then also play with the club in
all official county competitions. This is the first Gaelic4Girls
programme to be held in the area and all girls from Dunnamaggin and the
surrounding areas are encouraged to attend and learn the basic skills of Ladies
Gaelic Football. This is a great way to make new friends and learn a new
sport! The
cost for the entire programme is only €8. For more information e-mail dunnaladiesgfc@gmail.com, facebook Dunnamaggin lgfc or just turn up on the day to
register. Please note all players are required to wear mouth-guards and boots.
Dunnamaggin Ladies Football Club is looking forward to many participants for
Dunamaggin and the surrounding Parishes. The Under 14 training will also commence at the same time on 14th
March while the nursery group (aged 4 to 7) will begin training after the
Easter Holidays.
