Kells Scouts Trip to Mount Leinster

13 March 2015

Welcome to kells scouts March 2015

It's 8 o'clock on friday night the 6th of March kells scouts are setting off to mount leinster for a hill  walking weekend. It had taken 3 or 4  attempt to fit everything into their bags for the weekend but they were finally on their way arriving at mount leinster car park about half 9 that night. First thing the scouts noticed when arriving and getting out of the cars was the fierce wind howling around them. Nevertheless our intrepid scouts with torches on their heads and backpacks on their backs climbed over the first ditch and headed off. After a short walk they arrived at base camp where other scout groups were setting up. After observing  the heavy losses in tents and equipment sustained by the other scout groups are clever scouts decided to retreat to the shelter of the woods and setup their basecamp in a very short time tents were up sausages were cooking and scouts were having a great time
Next morning bags were packed and tents were taken down more sausages are cooked unfortunately due to the weather it was decided not to hike up mount leinster but stay at the base instead. Over the next few hours bases were made camouflage was applied games were had new friends were found and lots of memories were made. Back at kells scout den that evening the one question that everybody asked was when can we go again?
