How did your kids spend Saturday?

We're off its Saturday 21th March 8am and we are going to Woodstock scouts center for a Medieval day of fun and games with the Carlow /Kilkenny scout groups With over 300 cubs attending the day it's going to be interesting. First challenge trying to fit all the cars and buses into the car park. Next meet the Medieval king and queen for instructions on the day. It's now 10am scouts are in small groups and with the sunshine beating down its time to start. First off it's archery and while non of the scouts was willing to run around as a moving target we had to use the proper fixed one instead I don't think many of us will be called up as a extra for Game Of Throwns.Next off its time to meet the live birds of prey with hawking  Ireland and a friendly ferret called lily. Now it's Ballistics with our groups each making 5 foot caterpults and ready, aim, fire,Next while the leaders supervised the coffee and cake our scouts were off doing backwoods cooking.Lunch time and with the crisis of whether Zane will leave 1D forgotten its Into the woods for  orienteering with teams of 2  each trying to find 14 markers our group must be the best as one team found 18 markers!! Then it's into the history tent for a interactive history lesson with dress up and weapons. Now it's back into the woods again for Bivvy ( shelter's) after 20 minutes the group is making outdoor Bivvys that would make Bear Grills proud. With the day winding down it's time for the funfair with coconuts, jousting and the stock's then it's all gather together for goodbyes and receive our badges while the leaders suned themselves while waiting for the scouts pickup the kids had just enough energy left for a game of bulldog.
So how was your Saturday?
