All Ireland 40x20 Juvenile Team of 4/6
A huge day for Kilkenny handball where teams were involved in all of the grades in U12/13, U14/15 and U16/17 having completed a clean sweep of Leinster titles at the same venue in late March. Representing Kells on the U12/13 team was Padraig Lennon, on the U14/15 team was Dylan Crehan and on the U16/17 team were Conor Condon and Jack Crehan with Conor's dad Tom Condon being one of the coaches.
In U12/13 grade Kilkenny got off to a great start winning the Semi Final against Monaghan which set them up for a final with Munster Champions Clare later in the day. Kilkenny again came through in style to win the All Ireland final in a great display of handball.
In the U14/15 grade Kilkenny again met Monaghan in the Semi Final but this time the result was reversed as Monaghan defeated the Kilkenny team by just 2 aces to qualify for the All Ireland final.
The U16/17 Kilkenny team met Munster Champions Tipperary in the All Ireland final and after a very close contest came out as All Ireland champions on a 46-42 scoreline.
A huge congratulations to Padraig, Dylan, Jack, Conor and the other players and coaches on the Kilkenny teams on representing their club, county and province in the All Ireland series. Every one of them put in a lot of training to reach this stage of the team championships. Well done to all the lads on excellent performances throughout the season.
