Emphatic Win for Under
12’s

The Under 12’s played Barrow Gaels in the
league/ championship in sun drenched Dunnamaggin on Monday evening (20th).
Barrow Gaels opened the scoring with a goal in the first few minutes but
Dunnamaggin soon settled and found their stride in what was to become a very
entertaining encounter. Dunnamaggin’s first score was a point by Shannon Wall from
in front of the goal. This was followed by a point from Barrow Gaels.
Dunnamaggin took control of the game in the second quarter with some impressive
handpassing and kicking. Rachel Doherty scored a point and a goal in quick
succession to give Dunnamaggin the lead. The first half ended with a point from
Barrow Gaels leaving the teams level at the break with a score of 1-2 each.

From the throw in, Dunnamaggin took charge
of the second half. The goalkeeper and defence held the Barrow Gaels forwards scoreless
with some fine clearances, while the midfielders fed the ball to the forwards
through consistent hand passing and soloing. Dunnamaggin amassed a score of 1-5
with second half scorers being Shannon Wall (1 point), Rachel Doherty (3
points), Hannah Persse (1 point) and Ciara Mulhall (1 goal). Final score Dunnamaggin
2-7 Barrow Gaels 1-2.

This was a great win for the girls especially
as many of them had already played a camogie match earlier in the day!!
