Kells Scouts - Canoeing time
05 May 2015
It's Saturday the 2nd of May and today we are off to Graiguenamanagh again this time canoeing on the River Barrow there a 36 cubs and Scouts and 9 leaders on today's adventure I will admit starting off with the weather it is raining cats and dogs but that has never stopped us before so it's not going to start now. wetsuits are the order of the day and I can safely say that a 45 year old male scout leader no matter how much he tries will not fit into a size 8 wetsuit. Next it's time to meet instructors for the day and get safety tips we are using two person canoes today so should be fun. Now it is safety helmet time which is causing Tommy no end of trouble with his Lovely hair. It's still raining hard and after reassuring one of the Scouts(Amy) that Noah has not just gone past in the ark it's time to head off. The next 3 hours were fantastic fun and the rain even stopped well for a while afterwards it into the local scouting den for you guessed it hot chocolate and cake but no sausages today we even had time for a few games in the hall. It was such good fun we are even thinking of organising an overnight canoe camp. So on a wet bank holiday Saturdaywhat do your kids get up to? SCOUTS FOR THE TIME OF THEIR LIVES
