KELLS SCOUTS – CANOEING TIME:

On Saturday the 2nd May the Scouts were off to Graiguenamanagh
again. This time for canoeing on the River Barrow. There were 36 cubs and
Scouts and 9 leaders on today's adventure. It was a wet start to the day as it
was raining cats and dogs but that has never stopped the Scouts before and it
did not on this occasion. Wetsuits were the order of the day and  a 45 year old male scout leader no matter how
much he tries did not fit into a size 8 wetsuit. Next it's time to meet
instructors for the day and get safety tips on using two person canoes. Safety
helmet time caused Tommy no end of trouble with his Lovely hair. It's still
raining hard and after  reassuring one of the Scouts(Amy) that Noah has
not just gone past in the ark it's time to head off. The next 3 hours were
fantastic fun and the rain even stopped well for a while afterwards. It into
the local scouting den for you guessed it hot chocolate and cake but no
sausages on the day. There was even time for a few games in the Scouts’ hall.
It was such good fun all are even thinking of organising an overnight canoe
camp. So on a wet bank holiday Saturday what do your kids get up to?
SCOUTS FOR THE TIME OF THEIR LIVES.
