FOOTBALL BOOTS APPPEAL: The Dunamaggan GAA club are looking to send second hand
football boots that are usable to Malawi in Africa. They will go to a teacher
of P.E. in the Bishop McKenzie school in Lilongwe which is the capital
of  Malawi. There must be sheds and garages that have discarded boots in
them and what better way to make use of them than to send them out to
these people who will be extremely grateful. We hope you can help us. Size
wise 5 - 10 would be ideal. Please drop them into the box in the club
dressing-rooms.

U14 HURLING: The Dunamaggin U14’s took on Dicksboro in Palmerstown on Friday
evening last. Missing a number of players through injury and sickness
Dunnamaggin were facing into a huge task against the city side. The game opened
with a flurry of scores with both sides conceding early goals in the opening
minutes, the Dunnamaggin one tapped home by Derek Carroll. It was however
Dicksboro who were settling to the task better and added a further three points
in the opening ten minutes. The Dunnamaggin defence were under pressure and but
for some cool goalkeeping from Dylan Wall Dicksboro could of stretched their
lead further. A fine point from Andy Hickey from play seemed to settle
Dunnamaggin and when Harry Walsh pointed a free the Dunnamaggin lads seemed to
gain further confidence. Dicksboro got a point back before Denis Walsh got one
from play. Jimmy O’Neill came on for Oisin McDermott. Dicksboro got another
point to push them three points in front, but a Harry Walsh free and a Conor
Brett point from play left the minimum between the sides at half time.
Dunnamaggin 1 - 5 Dicksboro 1 - 6. It was Dunnamaggin who came out of the traps
quicker in the second half with a Denis Walsh free, which made it a draw game.
Some tactical switches by the Dunnamaggin mentors, particularly moving Harry
Walsh to full back and Dylan Crehan to midfield were causing Dicksboro serious
problems. Indeed Denis Walsh (2) and Conor Brett (1) added further points from
play midway through the half before Dicksboro made changes of their own to stem
the tide. The work rate of the Dunnamaggin lads lead by Kieran Buckley at full
back, Shaun O’Keeffe, Andy Hickey and Ger Coffey was not about to let go of
their hard fought lead. The standard of Hooking and Blocking on both sides was
exceptional. Harry Walsh added a further point before Dicksboro got one back to
put the goal between the sides and it was a goal Dicksboro next got, a draw
game once again. Dicksboro then edged in front from a free. Dylan Crehan and
Conor Brett continued to cover enormous ground and eventually won a free which
Harry Walsh converted. Draw again. Harry Walsh then put Dunnamaggin in front
with only minutes remaining from the placed ball but it was Dicksboro who tied
the game up with a free of their own. Dunnamaggin 1 - 12 Dicksboro 2 – 09.
Panel: Dylan Wall, Ger Coffey, Kieran Buckley, Conor Denny, Andy Hickey, Dylan
Crehan, Shaun O’Keeffe, Conor Brett, Dylan Carroll, Jack O’Connell, Harry Walsh,
Daniel O’Neill, Oisin McDermott, Derek Carroll, Denis Walsh, Jimmy O’Neill,
Cathal Persse

DUNAMAGGIN LGFC: The
U14s played Muckalee in the 2nd round of the league on Wednesday 20th.
The game was a very close encounter with both teams equally matched and giving
it their all.  The final score line of
Muckalee 3-8 to Dunnamaggin 2-6 didn’t do justice to the girls in what was a
very entertaining match. Dunnamaggin had to play the final 10 minutes with 14
players (against Muckalee’s 15) as one player had to go off injured. The
teamwork and ‘never give up attitude’ displayed was a pleasure to watch and the
improvements displayed by each individual player and the team as a whole
demonstrated the progress that the team has made in a very short period of
time. Panel: Ciara Farrell, Níamh Walsh, Ellen O’Neill, Ella Dunne, Ciara
Mulhall, Amy Keane, Ellen Burke, Sarah Davis, Sarah Doherty, Keelagh Sheridan,
Emily Cody (2-2), Rachel Doherty (0-1), Laura Davis (0-1), Grace McLoughlin
(0-1), Emer Dunphy (0-1).
