DUNAMAGGAN LADIES GAELIC FOOTBALL: Ryan Tubridy and TV3 came to Dunnamaggin GAA Grounds on Wednesday last 1st July. It was a fantastic day and the weather was ideal as the 2fm road caster broadcasted the Ryan Tubridy show live from Dunamaggin GAA grounds. After the live broadcast Ryan Tubridy posed for many photographs and mingled with the large gathering. Later TV3's Anna Daly from the Ireland AM show did a piece on the recently established Ladies Gaelic football club which has gone from strength to strength. This will be broadcast on Thursday July 9th. The broadcasts were as a result of the successful Gaelic4Girls initiative and ensuing remarkable growth of the club in such a short period of time. The Gaelic4Girls programme is rolled out by the Ladies Gaelic Football Association who receive funding from the National Lottery Good Causes. While Dunnamaggin LGFC has not received any direct funding from the National Lottery, the club has benefited indirectly through the Gaelic4Girls programme. Dunnamaggin LGFC was chosen as one of the 50 or so clubs from Ireland and Britain to partake in the Gaelic4Girls initiative. The programme is used as a foundation block for new clubs and clubs trying to attract new members and culminated on Monday last 6th July when almost 1000 girls descend on Croke Park and participated in the Gaelic4Girls National Blitz. The Club wishes to thank all those who worked so hard to make the day such a success. Established in February 2015, Dunnamaggin Ladies Football Club is a new organisation which caters for ladies in the community from 4 years up including "Mothers & Others". New members are always welcome.
