KILMOGANNY BRIDGE CLUB: The Results of Wednesday 15th July were: 1st; Catherine Hegherty & Emer Wallace; 2nd Pascal Grace & Ellen Delahunty; 3rd David Sutton & Paul Thomsett. Bridge starts at 8.00 p.m. each Wednesday evening in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny and visitors are very welcome especially those from clubs which have ceased for the summer.

KILMOGANNNY BANK HOLIDAY FESTIVAL: Preparations all well under way for the August Bank Holiday Festival in Kilmoganny. ‘I`m not a celebrity keep me in here` will be launched on Thursday 30th July at 8.00 p.m. in Kilmoganny Woods. Come and see the 11 contestants enter the wood and into the unknown for their epic adventures. Trials and challenges will take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The contestants will need your votes to stay in, so come along to the wood each day. There is easy access for spectators to watch the competitors perform the tasks that await them. The trials and challenges Timetable is as follows: Launch: Thursday 30th July at 8.00 p.m.. Come early for good viewing. Friday:12 noon.  and 8.00 p.m. Satuarday:12 noon .4.00 p.m. and 8.00 p.m. Sunday: 11.00 a.m. and 5.30 p.m. The Crowning of winner will be at  6.30 p.m. approx. While all this is going on there is a fun filled day in the village with many entertaining events taking place.  Family Fun Day on Sunday 2nd August: At 10.30 a.m. there is a 5k/10k walk/run. Registration from 10.00 a.m.. in St Eoghan’s Centre. Teas in St. Eoghan’s Centre for competitors on return and spot prizes. Teas will be served until 3.00 p.m. The Children`s fancy dress parade takes place at 1.00 p.m. and it is followed by free show by `The Wiggly wormz’ and refreshments. All are very welcome. Music dancing, face painting, storytelling etc will take place on the Sunday afternoon with the Tug Of War commences at 3.30 p m. with teams from local villages and surrounding areas. It is a #tough contest as teams of 8 take on last year’s winners ‘Dunnamaggin`. Barrel of beer is the prize for the winners. There will be a Barbeque from 6.00 - 9.30 p.m. Music on Saturday night in Dunphy`s Lounge, is a Joe Dolan tribute by the `Legends` at 10.00 p.m. There will be a Disco in the Horse and Hound at 9.00 p.m. Music on Sunday evening in Dunphy`s at 7.00 p.m. by Tim Chambers followed by 5 piece band `The Works` at 10.00 p.m.. Admission is €5. For further Information contact numbers 051 - 648118; 087 - 6757490 or 087 WELCOME FOR RETURN OF SUNDAY MASS: There has been a welcome in Kilmoganny and the surrounding area for the return of the 9.30 a.m. Sunday morning mass in St. Eoghan’s Church after an absence of three years. KELLS HANDBALL CLUB: In the County Wall Ball Competition Marie Walshe won in the Ladies Open Final defeating Deirdre Purcell (Windgap), Kirsty Maher was defeated in the Ladies Open and Dan Breen was defeated in the Men’s Open by Ducksy Walsh (Talbots Inch). In the Juvenile County 60 x 30 competition in the U 16 Singles Final Conor Murphy (Kells) defeated Ciaran Cooney (Clogh) and in the U 12 Singles Ryan Grace (Kells) was defeated by Jay Maguire (Galmoy).
