FEAST OF THE ASSUMPTION which is on next Saturday 15th August will be celebrated with masses on Friday 14th at 7.00 p.m. in St. Eoghan’s Church, Kilmoganny and on Saturday 15th at 9.30 a.m. in St. Eoghan’s Church, Kilmoganny and at 11.00 a.m. in St. Leonard’s Church Dunamaggan.

KILMOGANNY BRIDGE CLUB: The Results of Wednesday 5th August were: 1st Nicholas Flavin and Partner; 2nd; Myra Hickey & Nellie Lahart; 3rd: Nellie O’Shea & Emer Wallace.  Bridge starts at 8.00 p.m. each Wednesday evening in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny and visitors are very welcome especially those from clubs which have ceased for the summer.


GOLF CLASSIC: The Annual Dunamaggin GAA Golf Classic will take place on this Friday and Saturday 14th & 15th August in Callan Golf Club. Anyone interested in entering a team, sponsoring a prize or a tee box (€50) please contacts Michael Murphy 0862364864.  


 


KELLS HANDBALL CLUB: In the Juvenile County 60 x 30 championships in U 15 Singles Eoin Brennan (Kells) defeated Robert Dowling (Mothel) in the final; Joe Cowhig (Kells) competed in the U 13 Singles and Kieran Buckley (Kells) competed in the U 14 Singles. Conor Condon (Kells) was defeated in the final of U 17 Singles. In the Boys U 12 Doubles Ryan Grace and Matthew O’Sullivan (Kells) were defeated by Kilfane. In the U 15 Doubles Michael Power and Joe Cowhig (Kells) defeated Robert Dowling and Shane Fahy (Mothel) in the final and in the U 16 Doubles Conor Condon and Shane Ivory (Kells) were defeated in the final by Clogh. Congratulations and well done to all who participated.


Good luck to the Kells players Dan Breen, Brendan Burke and Eoin Brennan who are traveling to Calgary, Toronto, Canada to compete in the World Handball Championships which is taking place from 11th to 21st August, 2015.


 


FIELD DAY: Dunnamaggin GAA and LGFC Field Day takes place on Sunday 23rd August from 1.00 p.m. – 5.00 p.m. in the Dunamaggan GAA Grounds. It should be a great Family Occasion with Kids races, Egg & Spoon races, Hurling Skills, Keepy Uppies, 3 legged races, Welly Throwing, Mothers & Others games etc. In addition the U 8 Thomas O’Shea Hurling Blitz will take place and there is a 2,000 challenge. The various Stall will feature Face Painting, Darts, Wheel of Fortune, Brick-a-Brack, Golf etc. Also there will be a BBQ, SHOPS, POPCORN TEAS/COFFEES CAKES ETC.
