KILMOGANNY BRIDGE CLUB: The Results of Wednesday 12th August were: 1st Nicholas Flavin and Paschal Grace; 2nd; Mary Lonergan & Kathleen O’Shea; 3rd: Catherine Hegarty & Emer Wallace.  Bridge starts at 8.00 p.m. each Wednesday evening in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny and visitors are very welcome especially those from clubs which have ceased for the summer.

DUNAMAGGIN GOLF CLASSIC: The Dunamaggan GAA Club Golf Classic was held in Callan Golf Club on Friday and Saturday last. The weather conditions were very favourable and in all almost 50 teams took part in this very popular annual event. The results were as follows: 1st John Holden, S Byrne, O. O’Connor, D Murphy 95 Points; 2nd Christy O’Dwyer, Wm Power, Jim Gorey, Ned Sweeney           90 points; 3rd John Sheils, Shane Roche, A McCormack, J Millea 89 points; 4th Tom Phelan, J.J. Dunphy, Dan Reid, G Woodcock 93 points (non GUI); 5th B Hudson, K. Molyneaux, M Hanrahan, L. Murphy     93 points C/B; 6th Mgt O’Shea, Ml. Hoyne, T Hayes, T Malone 88 points; 7th   Rd Power, J Power, M. Power, Ml Raggett 88 Points C/B; 8th Tom Phelan, G Brett, J Brett, J. Hession 88 points C/B.

FIELD DAY 2,000 CHALLENGE: During the Dunamaggin Field Day next Sunday there is Challenge from 1.00 p.m. – 4.00 p.m. for a target of 2,000 laps to be completed by participants.


 The laps may be walked, jogged or run so come along on Sunday and set a Dunamaggin Record of at least 2,000 laps of the field completed in 3 hours. Dunnamaggin GAA and LGFC Field Day takes place on Sunday 23rd August from 1.00 p.m. – 5.00 p.m. in the Dunamaggan GAA Grounds. It should be a great Family Occasion with Kids races, Egg & Spoon races, Hurling Skills, Keepy Uppies, 3 legged races, Welly Throwing, Mothers & Others games etc. In addition the U 8 Thomas O’Shea Hurling Blitz will take place. The various Stall will feature Face Painting, Darts, Wheel of Fortune, Brick-a-Brack, Golf etc. Also there will be a BBQ, SHOPS, POPCORN TEAS/COFFEES CAKES ETC. Donated items may be dropped off at St. Leonard’s School, Dunamaggan from 7.00 p.m. – 8.00 p.m. from this Wednesday until this Friday
