KILMOGANNYN BRIDGE CLUB: The results from Wednesday 7th October are as follows: 1st: Paschal Grace & Ellen Delahunty; 2nd; Grace Landy & Elizabeth Lanigan; 3rd; Nellie Lahart & Mary Delaney. Bridge Classes for beginners commences last Wednesday but there is still time to begin classes by attending this Wednesday evening at 8.00 p.m. The classes will continue on 10 successive Wednesdays. No previous card knowledge is required. This is a great opportunity to learn the basic elements of the game. The cost for the 10 lessons is €20 and this includes tea/coffee. KELLS HANDBALL CLUB: In the Leinster Juvenile 60 x 30 semi-finals in the U 17 Singles Conor Condon (Kells) was defeated by Kevin Diggins (Kildare); in the Boys U 15 Doubles Michael Power (Kells) and Robert Dowling (Mothel) were defeated by Eoghan Doheny/Padraic Dunne (Laois) and in the U 15 Singles Eoin Brennan (Kells) defeated Karl Rowe (Meath).
Representing Kells in the Juvenile County 60 x 30 in U 11 Doubles were Emmet Nolan and Joseph Prendergast; in the U 10 Singles were John Hayes, Ross O’Neill, Sean Lawton, Cathal Buckley and Joseph Prendergast. Congratulations to all the lads who participated and put on a great performance but were unlucky not to make the final.
HALLOWEEN C ELEBRATIONS: Its almost Halloween again and in the dark of night you welcome to the `ZOMBIE BALL` in Dunphy`s Dungeon, Kilmoganny on Sat 31st October at 9.00 p.m. Full Fancy Dress is required such as Witches, gouls and vampires etc. Prizes for best costumes and spot prizes galore. Enter the dark den and taste the homemade witches brew. Music is by the one and only Tim Chambers. Admission is only €5. Don’t miss this Thriller. LOOKING AFTER YOUR MENTAL HEALTH: Dunnamaggin LGFC & GAA club are organising a Free talk entitled 'Looking after your Mental Health' on this Friday 16th October at 7.30 p.m. in St. Eoghan’s centre, Kilmoganny. ALL (young and old) are welcome.

DUNAMAGGAN REJOYCES: Last Saturday evening in St. John’s Park, Kilkenny turned out to be a day of rejoicing for Dunamaggan as the Hurling team by a margin of 0 – 19 to 0 – 15 defeated the Emeralds in the relegation Intermediate final. The team which had played very well all through the year but just came up short in most games by a few points were in a final that clubs which to avoid. Even though the Emeralds began the brighter and registered 3 points before Dunamaggan opened their account. Yet the Southern team emerged with a 0 – 13 to 0 – 10 at the interval. Both teams scores about half as much in the second half with Dunamaggan emerging victorious on a score of 0 – 19 to 0 – 15.
