KELLS HANDBALL CLUB: In the Boys U 12/13 60 x 30 Team of 6, Kells representative on the Kilkenny team was Ryan Grace, but the team were beaten in the Leinster Final by Wexford. In the Boys U 14/15 60 x 30 Team of 6, Kells representatives on the Kilkenny Team that played in the All Ireland Final were Michael Power, Kieran Buckley, Joe Cowhig and Conor Hoban.  Unfortunately they lost out to Cork in the Final having played extremely well. Well done on receiving your All Ireland Silver medal. In the Juvenile All Ireland Semi Finals Eoin Brennan Kells received a bye from Ulster in the Boys U 15 Singles.

HALLOWEEN CELEBRATIONS: Its almost Halloween again and in the dark of night you welcome to the `ZOMBIE BALL` in Dunphy`s Dungeon, Kilmoganny on Sat 31st October at 9.00 p.m. Full Fancy Dress is required such as Witches, gouls and vampires etc. Prizes for best costumes and spot prizes galore. Enter the dark den and taste the homemade witches brew. Music is by the one and only Tim Chambers. Admission is only €5. Don’t miss this Thriller. You are all so very very welcome but thread carefully.


 


A KNITTING CIRCLE will begin in St. Eoghan’s Centre, Kilmoganny on this Thursday 29th October. It will run from 7.30 p.m. – 8.30 p.m. Approx. Anyone interested is invited to come along. The Circle will meet on every second Thursday.  This is an opportunity to get the knitting needles active again in a social setting.


 


DUNAMAGGAN GYMKHANA made a presentation of €4,000 to both the Carlow/Kilkenny Home Care Team and to St. Joseph’s Care Home for the Elderly in Kilmoganny on last Thursday evening. The presentations were the proceeds from this year’s very succesful Gymkhana in Dunamaggan. Dr. Ian Wilson in accepting the donation on behalf of the Home Care Team thanked the Dunamaggan Gymkhana for their generous support of over 20 years and especially Roberta Dowley for her great work each year. Rev. Nicholas Thanked the Gymkhana committee and especially its Chairman, Larry Costello, for facilitating the Gymkhana on his land. He stated that the money would be used in payment for a new boiler which is required in the Home. He also stated that the Home welcomes residents for short stay periods as well as long term residence.


 


ST. JOSEPH’S CARE HOME FOR THE ELDERLY in Kilmoganny not only provides home from home care for residents on a long term or short term basis but also provided meals on a daily basis to non-residents. The day care centre is operative on each Wednesday. There is also a vacancy for a care assistant who has a Fetac level 5 qualification. MINOR HURLERS IN CO FINAL: Best wishes to the Dunnamaggin Minor Hurling team and their mentors who play in the Roinn B Co. Final in Nowlan Park next Sunday 1st November at 1.15 p.m. This is an opportunity for the team, as they take on Neighbours John Lockes, to add to the Roinn C title which was won two years ago. Panel:-Ronan Coffey (Captain), Michael Cody, Rory Lodge, Eddie Dunne, Luke Fitzpatrick, Adam Fitzpatrick, Brian Farrell, Jamie McLoughlin, Roy Cullen, Shane Ivory Corr, Darragh O’Keeffe, Ian Walsh, Robbie McCauley, Nicky O’Shea, Victor Costello, Morgan Thomas, Chris Keane, Harry Walsh, Conor Hoban, Jack Crehan. The Mentors are: Larry Costello, Niall McCormack and John Fitzpatrick.


 


FEAST OF ALL SOULS which is celebrated on Monday next 2nd November is a special day for remembering the dead. Masses will be celebrated in St. Leonard’s Church, Dunamaggan at 9.30 a.m., St. Joseph’s Home for the Elderly in Kilmoganny at 12.10 p.m. and in St. Eoghan’s Church, Kilmoganny at 7.30 p.m.
